I might be able to do it depending on the damage, and i happen to have a spare ( although i do intend keeping it just in case! )

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud. After a while, you realise the pig is enjoying it.

How many different ECU's were there?

49 State/California?
SE's/Clemo's?
S2's?

Was there a Japanese ECU as well?

You can read the stored CEL codes with a paperclip! Check out the WikiLEC on LotusElanCentral.

The ECU's are all the same GM part No 01228708? or A082U7223 i.e. from an Esprit! The only difference is the MEMCAL and there is some info here. You can communicate with them using ElanScan and a suitable interface.

Although they didn't hit the US, the N/A (non-turbo) has a completely protocol which hasn't yet been deciphered.
