Power steering hoses: where to get?
I'm looking at a '91 Elan, with a 1.6l Turbo.
The inspection reveals that the major problem with the car is the power steering hoses are pretty much all leaking. Our local Lotus dealer says Dave Bean is the only place to get them, but being a auto-tech, I'm hoping that Lotus used a Isuzu or GM part number, that I can order via work from one of our more traditional suppliers (none of which carry exotic parts) and save me a bit of coin (I'm doing the labor) I'm going to be doing a bit more research here guys, but so far I'm falling for the little car... I want to own one bad now... |

I think I had some fabricated hoses installed when my pas croaked on my m100. Have you checked over on LEC (Lotus Elan Central) ?

If all else fails, look in your local phone book yellow pages for industrial hydraulic suppliers. If your original end fittings are still in good shape, they can usually rebuild your hose assemblies by replacing the bad rubber hose and reusing the end fittings for you and it can be surpisingly inexpensive. Hopefully you can just find new hoses that fit some other car.
