backup camera settings

Ive seen a couple posts about the rear view cam, but none so far that are about this.

The dialogue that displays when the camera activates that says 'don't fully rely on backup camera' drives me totally crazy. It blocks an important area of view on the display and I want to turn it off.

Are there any sort of settings for the backup cam? I haven't been able to find any at all..

Thanks in advance!

I hated that too, but I realized after a month of ownership, that if I touch the screen, it goes away. I never found a way to disable it permanently.

I ended up replacing the head unit eventually anyways.

So tried what you suggested this morning and it worked! sort of.

I didn't realize that there are a few options on the reverse screen when engaged. I have the option to turn off the goofy cones, and also the option to move that mentioned dialogue from the upper middle of the screen to the very bottom portion where its only covering up view of mt license plate. best part is that it seems to save these settings so I don't have to do it every single times.

So I'm totally satisfied with that solution. Now onto setting the dash clock!

Ha! I hate that dash clock, its military time and how you go about setting it. You will learn over time that it doesn't even keep time good. Mine always gets offset after awhile.

Funny, a kids watch that you find in a happy meal does a better job at keeping time than this one in a $50K plus sports car.

hahah well I actually use 24hr clocks most of the time, so i was looking forward to using it since i cant find an option for the console clock to be 24hrs.

I figured it didn't keep time well considering mine is 20hrs and 44 minutes off, and not an even hour amount..

still haven't even messed with it yet though

I'm pretty sure it's the specific Alpine headunit that shows that text. I think I recall seeing it on my W900 before I pulled it out.

Yeah its the Alpine unit in my '14 that has it. Having that idiotic text at the bottom instead of in the middle has been much nicer. I also only turn the guides when occasionally needed.

What part of Dallas are you in? I'll be attending the next C&C also
