Best sounding exhaust - LotusTalk

Kreissieg's exhaust certainly sounds great, but I'm not sure it's very quiet at normal driving. It seems loud at every speed. So I have mixed feelings about it. Not to mention it costs quite a bit over other aftermarket exhausts.

Sounds almost like an airplane while cruising (@0:35s).. What the heck did they put inside this exhaust, little spinning valves?

btw.. you could probably get your car as loud with exhaust cutouts, but of course that would be illegal, even electric ones.. not that I have thought about it, cuz I haven't ya know?

That sounds really good!

Here's my 2GR swapped MR2 Spyder with open headers (just finished swap).. revs come at end of clip.

FYI my exhaust uses modified (for flow and fitment) Toyota catalyst headers, a custom y-pipe, a Lexus ES350 main cat (modified for larger inlet/outlet), a Borla dual exit straight through muffler and 2 Borla tips.

kreissieg is a valved exhaust so there is the option of closing the valve to may it quite for normal driving.
im gonna get a kreissieg exhaust for my quattroporte

Kreissieg SOUNDS great... but that is all it does.

The exhaust is built solely for the sound. It is MUCH heavier than a stock exhaust on every car they make one for. It also demolishes power. They do not do dyno testing, or even care about performance. It is all for show.

If you're ok with that, and are down to pay what they charge, do it-- otherwise, steer clear.

Wow, that's pretty disappointing to hear. Why the heck would they make an exhaust system to degrade performance? When you say it 'demolishes' power, how much are we talking about? To me 'demolish' sounds like it turns the Evora into a pig. It's impossible to tell in the videos, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary. Every other aftermarket exhaust system for offered for the Evora is significantly lighter over the stock exhaust, so I'm finding it hard to believe something like this, especially what it costs, kills performance.

I mean, wow. It sounds phenomenal. Better than exhausts I've heard on most cars, including supercars. Plus, no other Lotus I've seen sounds this good.

I take it you've had some experience with Kreissieg's products? You're not just passing on hearsay are you?

Lol-- I already made the same comment in the last thread that brought up KS, and you made the same comments again.

A bunch of Maserati guys bought them a while back and the exhaust weighed about 2x as much as the stock exhaust (full exhaust, mind you-- so it was like 60 pounds more or so) and sapped around 20-30 HP off the car.

They should have listened to the sponsor on the forum who warned them

Oh yeah. Love that F1 sound. F355's are legendary, at one point the best sportscar in the world.

oh well. On their website, their garage is just loaded with supercars... That's a lot of suckers...

I'm gonna try finding out how much it weighs over stock. Maybe they have that info.

Sounds like my 97 integra with full catless cat back system, sounds good but gets annoying after awhile, can't even here the radio.

Good news.

After a little digging, I found out that the weight of the stock exaust system is 17.8kg~39lbs. The Kreissieg exhaust is 15kg~33lbs, -6lbs over stock.

BTW, I took spent a little time compiling some comparisons. Here's what I have so far:

- Larini Evora Sport Exhaust @ ~18lbs, I doubt it's much louder than the stock exhaust, despite being over $1100 (they demo'ed it with their non-road-legal straight pipe, so I don't know how it really sounds, but I wasn't too impressed regardless)

Hi there,

from my view the Kreissieg exhaust is developed only for sound not for performance! I´m also thinking about a rear exhaust and I will purchase the Komo-Tech. Here are soundfiles from Komo-Tech HP:

Sounds not brutal but powerful. It´s made of stainless steel, fits great and it weighs only 9 kg!

About to purchase the Kreissieg full sytem sound 2 and 5 for a customer and noticed that there are no guarantees with CEL issues. Has anyone installed the Kold Fire manifolds and flash with the Kreissieg?
