Center Lock Hubs - conversion.

Would this be a possibility to switch to center lock?

Just a curiosity...

Well, the set up Forgeline offers simply bolts to the existing studs so if you were talking about a car with a lesser offset than your typical Lotus (Mustang, Camaro) it's cheap and easy.

Just moved to Phoenix, anyone else here?

I'm curious about the Evora - hence the section I posted in

I'd like to know if it is possible to use a centerlock on our current wheels. Add 5 bolts to the current hub for alignment maybe and somehow add the lock to the middle through the center cap area?

Not particularly, you'd have to start fresh as the holes would interfere with the centre lock bevel. The diameter for the hole is pretty big.

I'm sure Lotus Racing has a solution that is available (wheels, hubs etc)--they have already drummed up fixes for a lot. It will just cost $$$ and take some time to get it from them.

but I wouldn't be much surprised if in order for their option to work, you have to fit a few other GTE or other race parts as well..for example-when I had issues with my brakes I looked at sourcing just the GTN rotors and calipers...can't be done without ordering the full braking kit (new pedal box, master cylinder, balance control, etc etc etc) at the price of 15k.

15K just for the brake upgrade - ouch.

Why do people take the option for the awesome S wheels - it is stylistic.

I like the idea of center lock wheels and I'd love to get them - that is all.

As for easier to steal sure - but this car isn't the easiest to get up on blocks to begin with - I also do my best to not leave it somewhere that is possible. There are also safety locks to keep them right where you left them.

people with GT3rs order them with the 10k center lock hub and 5k painted roll cage all the time. It looks cool.

Not busting, just asking as beyond looks , for a DD or track toy there is no advantage.
See how much it costs to repair if you strip a thread BTW!! You'll wish you had studs. No there is an excellent mod. Removing the stock bolts, install ARP racing studs etc!!

Don't forget the 1" impact you will need to get them off the car and the 1" torque wrench to properly tighten them back on, so add about $1-2K for tools.

Oh, and you'll need a helper to stand on the brakes to tighten the nuts.

I already have the nice 1" torque - the impact I do not.

If you strip an AP racing stud how hard is it to get it out of the hub?
