Very interesting Fuzz!

"The six-speed is borrowed from a Toyota diesel powertrain, and in standard form its tall ratios help deliver exceptional fuel economy. Lotus will also offer a Sport version, though, incorporating its own third-, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-gear cogs. Fuel economy drops about 3 mpg with the Sport six-speed, but performance jumps. Lotus claims the Evora will run to 60 in just 4.9 sec. Lotus also builds its own clutch and revises the linkage for a tighter, more aggressive shift feel."

"Front-seat room is up conspicuously, so much so that you'll no longer rub shoulders with your passengers."
Yeah, but it's a 1000 lbs heavier. "Paul Birch tells me the Evora even outgrips the purebred Exige S on semi-slick tires." I highly doubt that. ![]()

In terms of lateral G's I wouldn't be surprised if the wider-tire equipped Evora puts up a higher number compared to the Exige S.
I'd like to see one in person. I spent 12 hours in the Elise yesterday and am pretty sore/tired today.

Surely you aren't expecting Lotus to make their next model the same weight as an Elise/Exige? Talk about marketing epic fail (for the current Elise/Exige) if they did. I don't. More HP albeit, more weight but, wider tires and more grip is not out of the realm of possibility. |

Now that's funny!

it will be interesting, because a 111 is a ...what 13 year old design. so how the evora performs will be an interesting measure of Lotus engineering development from a clean sheet of paper.
but to think its around 1200 lbs heavier than my car... thats alot! ...makes you realize just how light and focused the 111 is. it will be awesome for lotus to have a more comprehensive product like the evora!! i tihnk it will be the lotus defining car... in the middle of the extreems once the esprit comes around
