Evora at my Lotus dealer

Just got back from my Lotus dealer. They have an Evora there for a few hours before it goes back to the Lotus factory ready for the 60th anniversary day on Sunday. Here are a few pics I took.

Impressions

Glad you got a chance to see it. Could you please give your honest impressions when you first saw the car in photos and then after seeing it in person? Did your impressions change, does it look better in person.. or worse?

You're never sure when you just see things in posters with lighting effects, renderings, etc- but I think that looks fantastic in just regular pictures. Thanks for posting. I love those seats!

That plastic engine cover under the rear glass will look good painted bright red.

I know that dealer! Isn't it the one close to the factory in Norfolk?

It's Strattons, a very highly regarded dealer very close to the factory indeed.

Are the bumpers Eurathane or plastic? I am hoping they aren't like the Elise and Exige and fiberglass.

And the front license plate goes....WHERE?

C'mon Lotus, the wealthys who buy this car don't want to be ticketed every five minutes for no front plate.

So, really.

Where does the front plate go?

And while we're at it, how does the rear American license plate fit?

Hmmmm.................

These cars aren't really coming to America like that...are they?

there's one picture with two guys leaning over and looking at the rear of the car... looks like they're both looking at the mismatch on the left side of the rear spoiler to the side fenders... doh!

I don't like how long the front nose is... kind 80's looking to me. but i do like the rear view of the car very well... accept for that missmatch on the wing is a bit tacky.

too bad about the idea that two points converging of the side and rear windows is attractive... i think it's just studio designer BS or manufacturing trying to save a few bucks... a well designed b-pillar would have been much more artistically continuous.

The lines in that car is so nice from every direction you look at. Great job Lotus

..except the side mirrors; too big and it seems they belong to another car.

The dealer is at Long Stratton. My first impressions of the car from the pics I have seen do not do the car justice. I personally think it is a stunning car. I did get to sit in it, the rear seats are quite restricted in leg room but there is plenty of head room. This version of the car has a rear mounted camera just above the rear number plate. When the reverse gear is selected the tv screen in the dash shows the view from the camera. I did ask if this was going to be a standard fitting but I think it will probably be an option as with the option for parking sensors. The reason for the rear spoiler looking as if it doesn't fit properly is because the boot lid wasn't closed properly. As for pricing I was told it might be around the 45 to £50000 with out options.

Glad to see (from the Flicker photo set) that the dash is actually leather, and not textured white paint. Nice. Great looking car, can't wait to see in person.
