Super charged!

The distance from the tip of the front bumper to the front wheel wells looks huge. There is so much overhang on the front. The design just doesn't look tight. It makes me wonder if the bumpers are deformable and not fiberglass (like the Elise and Exige are). Perhaps there is a lot of structure underneath that warranted this extented nose.
I also don't like the fog lights in the bumper. Sure it's integrated, but what do you have to do to replace those bulbs? It seems to interrupt the line in the middle of the bumper. One last thing... those headlights. It would have looked so much better if it were more like the M250's headlights. It would have been stylistically tied in to the current Elise and Exige more than these gigantic plastic openings. This makes me wonder if the Evora's front is going to have design elements that are in the next Esprit since they felt to depart from the M250 and Elise/Exige vertical headlights. |

I think I've got it. I know why I'm not quite sold, but it's an easy fix.
The wheels are too small. I think when the more GT versions hit, the wheel sizes will be larger which will make it look beefier. Does anyone agree?

. The y spoke 5 star set up is just weird and doesn't work with the car somehow. It needs wider, deeper, a bit bigger, and a better outward design that compliments (or at least works with) the body more. The standard wheels are just not right for this car. The turbine OZ style wheel on the clay plug do look good though. I'm glad they are putting the indicators and driving lamps in the "no-mans land" on the front clip flanking the central intake, it fills in the empty bodywork space on the "cheeks" that needed something to interrupt the expanse of nothingness. The rear end is perfect, the car looks fantastic from the back (and lets face it thats the view most people are going to see anyway , at least it will be after some higher Hp. #s find their way under the bonnet ). Looking forward to getting ours it will be nice to have a proper "daily" Lotus I can COMFORTABLY drive about town without having to be in speed racer mode all day long .Is Alcantara going to be a trim option? That would be fantastic, like it much better than leather. Last edited by LotusFamily : 09-17-2008 at 12:34 AM. |

i like it. looks good and great job in updating the interior.
but i think the car has to conform to the lotus philosophy of lightweight. i think this car is weighing quite heavy already and the power of the engines leaves something to be desired. |

At first, I thought that I hated it because it looked too much like the Tesla. Then I saw the back, and just like with the Elise, I fell in love.
Seems like the same works for me with women.

Give me some english wood!
The aluminium accents on the dash would look great in wood. Think Jaguar or 97 Esprit, before the "Gen-X"-ing of the interior.
I'm getting older, and I like a GT look. PS: The "color" shots look like B+W photos badly colorized to Lotus colors. Even the toolboxes got the color treatment? ![]() |

I like it, but it is a old guy/chick car. Thus I just showed my wife and promised to buy her one when they come out. She seemed to like the thought.

Just noticed this, but the panel fit between the rear engine cover and left rear fender including the spoiler (see photos 3 and 5 posted by the original poster) look like a pretty poor fit. Granted this is a pre-production car, but Lotus has to make sure the fit and finish on this car is excellent. If they are planning on luring Porsche owners into the Lotus fold, they can't have Proton quality panel fit.

I'm fairly sure that's been commented on in other forums, and yes, it's not fully shut.
