That's the first time I've ever seen a manual transmission cost more or is "sports ratio 6-speed manual transmission" a euphemism for "flappy paddles"?

It probably refers to a close ratio gearbox since the "6-speed manual transmission" is standard.

Ive posted the full spec sheet and euro price list on the GGLC blog: Evora Specifications and Pricing (EU and Switzerland) (by Chapman Report Online)

49,875 GBP comes out to about $70,000. Not sure if that includes VAT taxes. Anyone have idea on U.S. pricing?

Those prices include UK VAT at 15% (I think it's15% as there was a cut announced last year from 17.5% to 15%)

So, if my math is correct, then the UK price without VAT would be $42,393 GBP which would be $59,549 - comparably priced to the Cayman S.

But subtract VAT and add in shipping and import duties. Nothing is free.

The base price on the 2 seater minus vat brings the US price in at $56k. At that price, the Evora will sell like hot cakes.

Yes it will! I was initially a bit put off with the specs: 280hp, close to 3,000lbs, and "around 5 second range" for $70,000. I my mind that's close to Carrera territory for Boxster performance. But at $56K - $60K base price, I'm definitely interested!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the engine either... We'll see how the car compares to Porsche counterparts.

Could also just be a lower final drive ratio (would prefer closer ratios).

Pray it is though. Maybe Lotus learned something from the Buzzbomb campaign. If they had made the base price $35,999 on THAT model you never would have seen them stack up like cordwood at the dealers.

If you'd rather have a GTR, than a Lotus is not for you. Different driving experience all together.
