Evora in US?

I just saw a Evora today around 8pm in Milpitas, CA. It got a dealer plate on it.

Anyone know if it is available for test drive at dealers?

It's not even available for test drive in the UK yet. No-one other than Lotus engineers has driven the car - or if they have, they're under an NDA until the press launch goes ahead.

Press launch in the UK is end of April, first cars being delivered in May. As far as I'm aware there are no firm dates for the US at present.

Are you sure it wasn't a Tesla?

Don't know what you saw but it definitely wasn't an Evora....none here yet.

Could have been a test car. Would have had MFG plates, though, not dealer pates.

It's not incredibly uncommon to see pre-production test cars roaming around these parts.

Correct however, the Evora is not scheduled for testing....yet. My guess is the OP saw a Tesla

true true.
and mfr plates look a lot like dlr plates.

An Evora has indeed visited the states (and California), for the trade shows.

If the steering wheel is on the left (or.. right?) side, perhaps Lotus felt it would be more practical and cost effective to leave it here rather than ship it back. Just to see how well it'll hold up on our roads (and under our blazing sun).

If it were testing it would have had MFG plates from either Michigan or Georgia too...

I was in charge of Evora right after the L.A. auto show as I had to be with it when it made its rounds to So. Cal. and Las Vegas dealerships for a week but I also followed it to the port where it sailed to Japan and the rest of the world. It has not return and that particular vehicle is currently in England. Like I said, the OP probably saw a Tesla.

So Cal and Vegas? Sounds like you two bonded and had some good times.
