So it looks like, yeah they liked it, but on the last paragraph it says the Porsche is a better buy due to pricing. So why the reticence? Well, it boils down to the price. Even the rear seat-less '2+0' model is a few grand more expensive than the Porsche Cayman S, which would still be the sensible buy, despite slightly better fuel economy and emissions from the Lotus. But that's OK. Lotus doesn't want to build as many cars as Porsche does, so you can bask in its exclusivity. And just look at it. |

After thinking it over, Lotus has always been conservative on 0-60 times as has many automobile manufacturers so it is conceivable with the right driver, 4.8 is doable but for now, I'l believe a 4.9 time as stated by Lotus. |

0-60 is overrated anyways, 5-60 is much more important IMO, and the evora should do decent in that with its midrange power

really? Thats inconsistent? .3 of a difference between different people testing a car. That time depends on getting everything the same every time. Get a slightly different surface with a different driver and of course it will result in a slightly different time. Plus, can you really tell if you made it to 60 in 5.1 instead of 4.8 seconds?

I understand that, don't agree with it, but understand it. my point was more questioning calling 4.8-5.1 inconsistent.

Where's the mystery?
I think you'll find the 5.1 time is for 0-62mph (100kph). That would be consistent with a 0-60 time of 4.9. The 0-100kph measure is what 90% of the world uses. The British 0-62 is simply for the metrically challenged... ![]() |
