I believe that although from MY '12+ they were all fitted with the exhaust silencer E.P. (engine protection) valve, there are two different silencers with different part numbers as the N/A and S have different tips...
My 2011 unit is available dirt cheap if you want it. The boat anchor is in my garage in a box where it will lie till eternity or another buyer of the car wants it someday. Why, I don't know.
Hey, thanks for writing. It seems like everyone has a 2011, I've received multiple responses! Unfortunately, the 2011 is larger, and interferes with the O2 sensors that are mounted after the "resonator" (CAT) on my car. I know, its weird.
But I definitely like the dirt cheap concept...!
I've always thought this matching numbers BS at these auctions is a lot of who -ha. Many original things esp on those old muscle tanks were truly crap, hell the cars were basically crap, but the boomers seem to gobble the stuff up, just like the previous generations wanted 50's cars etc. Look how the prices on a lot of old 20-30's cars have flatlined. Those reminiscent folks are mostly gone now. Anyway, in 50 years, is not my concern. To me, if a car lived a good life, it should be worn out and recycled except for a handful of examples for the collectors. Never did understand why you'd want to own them but not drive them?
Those stock exhaust systems (did Janspeed build them all?) are probably some of the worst pieces of the car. Many actually rob HP esp on the new 400 with its sport exhaust. I've seen the dyno numbers and it ain't pretty. Ludicrous excess weight on a vehicle that's mantra is add lightness!!
We and my friend Jim agree on the Janspeed thing. Really would make a great boat anchor with tips , hanger brackets in pipe. Keep us informed how your 410 sets up.
