And how much weight is saved? maybe 8 0z?? If it isn't a motor, it will be a bigger spring.
The Porsche charge you for air techniques are a primary reason I won't buy a Porsche. "Homey don't do that" They, more than any other sports car manufacturer, seem to have the most loyal group of puppet followers that get bent over on new car purchases. The smart owners buy the rich boys 6 month to 1 year old cars when the price has dropped off for all the overpriced add ons. Lotus was quite smart actually to install one main harness and minimize the need for add ons along the assembly line. Some on this site just happened to be smart enough to find a very cost effective upgrade for one of them. Squid, once again, I am sorry for all the issues you had for your profoundly overpriced early purchase, but at the end of the day, you still own it and love it (I think). In the end, I suspect if you were to upgrade to an Esprit eventually, if Lotus is aware of what you went through, but you still are brand loyal, I suspect they will take care of you quite nicely. I speak for all of us that are multiple Lotus owners when I say the company has been VERY supportive to their limits of ability. We multiple new car purchasers are their future. Cuze the relative aside. Maybe you should deal a bit more with Sector 111 or Blackwatch (in other words- some folks with a clue because many of us are very aware that your service experiences have been ???? at best) Back to the mirrors. Anyone else find any other easy add ons , say rear taillight conversions back to Euro spec.

Got the switch from Mondeo Spares, Ford Mondeo Mk3 Powerfold Switch, just today gt my car back from dealer as they took it mid-november to display at some F1 functions and then ordered a replacement muffler under warranty. Anyways, switch change out was under 5 minutes and works like a charm. .. $45 for a $450 option.

Price is better than any I have seen. Not much more than the base switch.

Squid, your old install video says "private". Can you re-post? I'm about to do my switch and wanted to take a quick peek.

Switch via Mondeo Spares arrived 8 days from my order. Shipped total was $48 USD. Install was SO easy! It took me longer to find the right screwdriver to dig with. Tried to access the sides to get at the clips but could not get under the thing. Went to the 6-O'clock position and the whole switch popped right up. Swapped it out in less than 1 minute. Satisfaction!!
I've needed to do this as my garage is pretty tight so I've been manually pushing the mirrors to the folded postion once parked so I can more easily walk past and around the car. I'm surprised that this is not a standard option. My cars in both Asia and Europe all had folding mirrors.
