That's a litte misleading as they're not hitting the American showrooms until late Q4 of 2009.

Dave, just FYI. This is a serious Lotus forum with many people putting deposits on the Elise since 2003 or earlier. So, many of us here have been aware of the Eagle since late 2006!

At least they are enthusiastic. So many dealers don’t seem to want sell Lotus. I have seen dealers that seem to use Lotus as a bit of garage jewelry or a come-on to up sell to a Ferrari/Lamborghini/Maserati.

i went to rothrock a few years ago to look at an elise. they tried to show me a vette. they weren't very enthused back then i guess.....

Yes, but considering that development on the Evora started in October 2006 that's not too shabby for an outsiders.

As for DaveR and Rothrock, give the guy a chance. Consider it as part of the getting to know your customer base. I vaguely remember Criswell also had an initially cold reception when they first came on board a few years ago and I almost bought Dan's (Criswell's) Canyon Red Exige S....if I didn't need a rear seats for my son.

Anyone know if there's an Evora at the SF Auto Show. I wasn't going to go this year, but if they have the newest Lotus, maybe I'll reconsider.

I think it's a disappointment. I saw it at the L.A. auto show. It weighs almost 3000 lbs. and has only 275 hp, to that's a weight to power ratio of about 11 lbs./hp. For comarison, the Corvette Z06 has a weight to power ratio of about 6.2.

Plus, not available with manual gearbox and clutch pedal. It's an exotic boulevard cruiser.

It will be available with both a paddle-shift auto AND conventional manual transmission. There will also be higher HP models introduced during the products life cycle including supercharged and convertible versions.
