Hi all. So I took the plunge after a year of looking at the Evoras and got a 2011 IPS, imported from Singapore to New Zealand. Amazing car but it has a few problems and I'm hoping someone can help, I've searched the forums but cant quite find the answer. 1, cruise control doesn't work, doesn't activate when I push the on/off switch and no light comes on the dash, no fuses for it either? 2, the reverse camera comes on all the time when driving on the radio screen, very annoying and distracting, switches between screens every couple of minutes, somethings seconds, seems to happen when gear changes occur, seems like it would be a loose connection, checked all the fuse connections are good and nothing was loose. Lastly, the windscreen washer fluid floods out onto the floor when I use it,I assume a hose is off the bottle or something, looks like a big job to get access to it.....Any help would be great.

Congrats on your purchase. You got the fastest color!

Cruise not working might be the brake switch being faulty. You can try adjusting it....

Evora brake light switch questions.

Electronic Problems......Advice Needed

Windshield washer is probably the hose. It's been reported before. Try access through left front wheel well.

Camera?? no idea. Are your reverse lights on all the time too?

Good luck!

For the camera you might want to fiddle around and see if there is a polarity setting for the camera. Something to the likes of "Battery or Ground" setting. Try toggling between the two. I have an '11 also but swapped out the stock Alpine that came with it for a Pioneer 8200NEX. I recall when I had the wrong polarity selected the backup screen would behave like that. If that't not it, it could be there is trouble with the reverse wire that activates the camera on "R" gear selection. Could be a bad crimp/splice or pinched wire. You would have to pull the head unit out to check. It's a quick 10 minute job with the right tools.

The cruse control even when the brake light switch is good is sometimes difficult to turn on. I can turn mine on and some times set it right away other times its on but won't set. I found that if this occurs I turn it back off and then on hit the set button and then it works. Make sure you read the owners manual on using the cruse control. Some where on this site you can down load it if you don't have it with your car. There are many items in that manual you will wish you read if you don't take the time to do it. My biggest one was where it states not to use a pressure washer on the car. I found out the hard way why this is in there.

Do you get any fluid on the windscreen? If not it sounds like the hose between the pump and the nozzle has come loose. You should be able to see that by opening the reservoir access hatch. Otherwise there are two drainage hoses the should come out in the wheel arches, rear side of the upper wishbone. They drain the area below the windscreen where the wiper hides (no idea what it's called in English). For some reason I can find these in the spare part catalogue. But I've seen both of them when I had my front clam off earlier.

I have to push and hold the cruise control button for a few seconds to get it to turn on. Give that a shot.

Thanks team, ill give those a go, i am hoping that the window washer water has leaked over some electronics and making things not work so number one priority is that then will reassess.

Turns out my car is a heritage model, not sure exactly what that means if anything but it has some paperwork with it saying that with a few extra specs that others don't have but it looks similar to most out there.

Congrats! that orange the only color I really like above the blue one that I found. I will be 0 help with the issues, but that raises a question after reading your problem with the backup camera..

I wonder if there is a way to enable the backup cam whenever you wanted because the rear view out of these cars is almost non- existent. might be kind of cool to have that. has anyone thought of this or even done it?

Definitely doable; you'd just need to provide +12V to the reverse wire. Of course you'd want to diode-isolate so that it isn't illuminating your backup lights too.

And then figure out a switch solution. Or have it on all the time, but that could potentially shorten the camera's overall life expectancy.

Cruise control problems are almost always a problem with the clock spring in the steering wheel. Easy to replace when removing the steering wheel

I had factory cruise added to my 2011. I just had to buy the buttons and one cable. Dealer must activate the cruise control in the Lotus software.
Is the radio factory or aftermarket? on Alpine and Pioneer units you may have to check and see what the polarity of the camera is set to (battery or camera)

So a bit of good news, after spending 3-4 hours yesterday getting access to and finding the leaky hose ive fixed the washer problem, that seems to have fixed the reverse camera problem, best guess is that water was getting onto a plug and shorting somewhere, Still no cruise control though, taking that into someone who knows best on that one as its still covered under purchase warranty.

The reverse camera can operate any time i want like suggested in a previous post, ive got the w900e alpine headunit, the old owner has spent some $$ changing amps to sony kickers and the sound is very good!

Had its first good hill run today near home, performance and handling is excellent!

Problem found! 5 amp key ignition fuse blown, must've blown it when i disconnected the toll pay unit, now back to the cruise control, do all evoras have the steering wheel with controls on but not have the feature, the reason i ask that is that there is no tell light that comes up on ACC on,now starting to wonder if it even has it.

Not all the cars have the steering wheel buttons, but they all can have cruise control if you add them, a harness, and an ECU update.

@West-of-Hethel posted a howto.
