Just slogged through the long DRL post and it seems that will fix our issue.

Just went and unplugged the proper DRL plug (easy). MY11, Oct 2010, build needed no panel removal just a lay upside down in the seat move. Went in with dikes for zip ties, 1 new tie, tiny screwdriver and a small blade for elec tape removal. 3 mins and I'm out. (go see the great DRL thread)
Results; with DRL, nothing to the knobs with lights, knob dots (still a little dim but working well) and whole panel react with gages' dimmer on dash ![]() turn signals flash in hyper-mode (same as bulb out signal) Opinion; For me this is easily worth it. I won't reconnect the plug. We'll see if I get sick of the fast flash and go for that fix.

they are dim even when they are working, but if you sit in a dark garage, turn on the headlights and adjust the dimmer you will notice them.
I actually like the fast blink, and you get over the noise quickly.

Just seems like the paint in the dot is a bit too heavy and blocks more light than it should. Dremel to grind down slightly to improve transparancy????

Really, strange. Seems pretty basic and standard. If so, there must be a way to add it.

Is it panel #1 that doesn't illuminate or all of them? Maybe just a new panel?
(note - on mine the headlights have to be on to make the console light up).
