Imagine if Lotus tried to do these test trials in the US with the paparazzi we have?!?! We'd already have hours of video of the car leaving the factory, driving around, etc. Never mind the guys that pin the Lotus into a lane, jump out of the car and rip off all the disguises. You know how much TMZ would pay for a undisguised photo??? I'd tune into their show to catch a glimpse.

I guess in the UK, this really isn't a big deal???

Maybe they are just more civilized (said in my best British accent) then us American hooligans.

No paparazzi here?

Go to auto motor und sport - Test, News, Neuheiten Testberichte, Erlkönig, Video, Feinstaub, Verkehr, Tuning scroll down a little bit and click on the video: "Erlkönig: Lotus Eagle" to watch the bird fly around the Nürburgring for more than 2 minutes.

Thank God, they are finally looking out for us big people! Someone tell them that we 6'5ers tend to carry a bit more weight on the frame so some extra HP. might be nice too

I think Lotus should get an award for the best disguised car ever. That car is super ugly.

The Road and Track car is awesome!! I hope it looks like that. I can't get that image out of my head. I picture a 911/ Carrera size, but with the Lotus style.

A Lotus insider did say awhile back that the car looks nothing like the Gallardo speculations we have seen. The Road and Track picture would prove him correct.

We're talking about the upcoming new Ethos 2 +2 car coming up not the next new Esprit.

If someone shot that pic lying on the ground, it can be really, really misleading.

...yea I know - I don't think the Esprit like car will be out until 2012 or later.

Whatever you want to call it, I think the Eagle is the car in question everyone was speculating over.

Looks like a 430 to me except that the overall effect is much more attractive

This may be BS but a person with ties to Lotus claimed he was shown an uncamoed car and to him it looked a lot like a large Elise.

It's very possible. The M250 does look like a full sized Elise.

You hit the nail on the head. I'd almost guess that this is NOT the Eagle.

wouldn't be surprised. Looking at the disguised car you can make out some elise/exige designs, such as the front opening, the exige like splitter, and the vents by the windshield.

Ok how many days until the London Auto show so we can see the ETHOS!!!

We should have a daily count down!!!!

So are they going to be able to keep it under lock and key until then???

And at $90,000 how many of you are lining up for a 2+2???? Lotus seems to have priced themselves out of the market (esp how the US economy is going). Is this the M100 all over again?? Great car, too high of an asking price? I guess the good news is, you'll be able to find a nice used one in 15-17 years at a half way decent price.
