A count down would be fun They'll DEFINITELY keep it under lock and key until then and I'm hearing that the doors might be shut and the windows blacked out so as to not be able to look at the inside ![]() You might be confusing that number with the Esprit which, if it does come out, will start at roughly low $90K range so no need to worry about any M100 deja' vu or economical dilemas as I'm hearing about $69K base price. ![]() |

I'm lined up but for the two seater version - don't need no stinkin' seat for my gym bag. I doubt it'll cost 90k unless you go for every option and even then it's probably pushing it.
The real key here is performance... If this thing doesn't outperform the latest model Exige S, I'm not buying it. I'll buy the Exige instead. (And there's this part of me that says it better look good too.)

Also the new Esprit will no way start from the low 90's, probably looking at 120.

I've seen it, touched it and sat in it. Didn't drive it.
I'm lying.

Seems like a few people have made references to seeing it that I recall. A few people on this forum now... not directly saying it but similar to above
I wouldn't be shocked if lotus shows thier top customers/insiders/dealers pictures of it... Last edited by def : 06-10-2008 at 10:43 AM. |

That would be a very accurate statement. Last edited by FIRME : 06-10-2008 at 01:03 PM. Reason: forgot to put the "be" between would and a |

Paddleshifters? Hadn't heard that before.
Not a good idea for purists, but will likely pull people to the brand.

Including this article, I have read that the price will be starting at 45,000 GBP, which currently translates into about $88,000. Maybe the dollar will get stronger, but that would probably only get it into the mid-$70's and that will probably take some time. I hope I am WRONG, but it's the M100 all over again!!!! |

From the accompanying article:
"Behind the second row of seating is a mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 Toyota engine that will generate close to 300bhp and help the Eagle sprint to 60mph in less than five seconds and onto a top speed of 160mph." I've been watching and waiting anxiously (with my big jar of pennies) for this car since it was first announced. These performance numbers are close to my base Elise - with probable worse skid pad and slalom numbers. That's not an improvement. I'll wait until more information comes out when this thing is unveiled in July, but there is a very real possibility that I won't be buying it based on this. What a huge bummer.

With a base price starting at $70K, I hope it's as good in the terms of performance, quality, and features as the updated 911 that's coming out this Fall because that's a pretty competitive market (911, fully loaded Caymans, Z06s, and the ugly GT-R).

I hope the final production side mirrors are going to be lot smaller. Oh, and the panel fit-and-finish needs some work.
Otherwise, seeing these pictures of Evora in its natural habitat (and in that beautiful color), makes me want to go get one now. These pictures beat any one of those from the London car show. ![]() |
