Stock Exhaust sound on 2012 IPS

I'm in the marketing for a 2012 IPS non S version does anyone have a clip of exhaust sound on a non S model (ive only seen S models on youtube)

Also does Lotus provide better sounding exhaust to buy, I'm afraid of going aftermarket exhaust for warranty issues.

I bought a 2011 NA Evora with stock exhaust. Was not very happy with the sound. Just did not sound very "exotic"
Purchase the Lotus Sports Exhaust which transformed the sound. Very "exotic" sounding now. Was able to pick up the exhaust from the dealler for about $1000 and installed myself in about an hour.

This is my N/A Evora 2010 Manual with Radium CAI on it and a custom made exhaust with decat.

Heat fan - The MY12 N/A has the same exhaust as the 'S' just with a different tail finisher. So the sound is the same, ie. louder when you press the sport button, as it is valved.

Stock sound not bad for a V6, but get a larini you will be amazed at the sound

Where can I get a larini exhaust do you have a sound clip with your 2012 martin? I live in SO CAL like you as well. I'm getting the car in the next few months and I'm big on exhaust sound so if I'm not satisfied I looking for alternates

Virtually identical my friend. Sounds lovely and meaty, more muscle than the set up that came with the Evora. I think the car deserves it. Every person who sees the car smiles like an insane person when they hear it. They cant help it, they just keep griing and grinning, then the laughing starts then the "can you take me for a ride?" every time.

Best Mods ever. Did you get any BHP gain on the dyno? the stock pipe weighs a tonne?

12-14hp gains over stock. The car can be heard for a ways out and every time I arrive at our local cars and coffee someone always says "I heard you coming!"

That and the ability to scare small children or make unaware adults spill their drinks is also a bonus.

Ha ha ha, I like your style my friend. I pulled into my local Lotus dealers last week to check out some stuff on the MY12 S models and as I pulled in they just looked on smiling. Then came the "WTF have you done to that car it sounds amazing...".

I realise it's not for everyone and thanks for those who don't like it not condemning my car. However, I wanted it to sound like it had purpose and it sure as hell does now. Makes me smile every time I take it out. The best is as you say, if you wait to start her up when someone is walking by and they nearly jump with a double take.

As I say, best and most reasonably priced mod ever.

Where did you get your rear spoiler?

I am also still torn with regards to the 2bular headers upgrade right now.

The GT4, GTE or GTN( I always get them mixed up) spoiler is a £1295 option with Lotus I think. Alternatively, a friend had some brackets made that use the existing fixings for the rear spoiler and used the existing spoiler with manufactured end plates. Lotus factory wiring was plenty long enough to cope with the 5-6 inch rise in the stalks.

Just a thought, although that wing does look nice.

I saved over £10K not buying a 2011/12, and for around £2-3k I can make the car perform and look like a GTN. Now thats a good buy in my opinion.

You may get import duty imposed but your local dealer may help with all that.

Well maybe not perform, lets be honest it wont quite. However, the custom mod for the rear wing, I am getting costed with my local fabricator in the new year. I will let you know every step. You will know when I will know.

You can get the Larini exhaust from Sector 111 in Temecula. Quick google will get you the info. Shinoo Mapleton is the owner, great guy and long term Lotus enthusiast

Great, I'll def give him a call. How bad is the cabin drone with the Larini thats the only thing im worried about. Do you have a sound / vid clip? Thanks
