So when you see one on the streets, you really see a Coxster
Actually when Top Gear first reviewed the Cayman Clarkston referred to it as the Coupe form of the Boxster, thus the Coxster. C is for coupe, not Cayman.

...well, if any of you stuck around to watch the end of the episode, it featured a hilariously incompetent lap in the reasonably-priced car by the stig - i suspect they'll use his reveal as a mechanism by which white stig lost his stigginess...

Are you a betting man? I would bet you ANYTHING that a condition of (Ferrari Ambassador) Herr Schumacher's appearance on the show was that the FXX lap time was 'to forever crown' the top of the Top Gear leaderboard, and I would also wager that the same contract stated that if the FXX had failed to beat the Gumpbert or the FXX was to fail to complete the lap, break down/crash etc then no broadcast would be possible.

Oh and apparently all 3 presenters are ordering Evoras!

The Gumpert Apollo can't make it over a speed bump either

(the article fails to mention that it took more than just the passenger getting out, people had to lift up on the car)

I agree, the FXX shouldn't be included

Firstly apologies for the assumption that you are a guy - Myrrh is more likely a Female name? as is your avatar?

Secondly - I would like to take you up on that bet - BUT the theory of 'respect' is an intangible I have little time for.
The respect of others is arbitrarily bestowed, inconstant and whimsically withdrawn and I find tremendous freedom in not giving a flying f##k what other people think of me!

however a bet is a bet - if the FXX is withdrawn from the Top Gear board by the end of series 13 (because of the ride height issue) then I must purchase for you a gift of my choosing and send it to you.

You in return may do as you please!

Do we have a bet?

...just for clarification, it's not strictly the ride height issue, but the general fact that the FXX is a track-only car, neither intended nor available for street use...make that the end of series 14, to allow any immediate ferrari pressure to wane and give opportunity to run another properly fast car, and it's on - i'll send you a gift of my choosing likewise...

Oh, Perry McCarthy or someone. Yeah, it was in his autobiography, and they threw him off of an Aircraft Carrier in a Jag.

Now I know what you're talking about. Thanks

Btw for anyone who hasn't seen episode 2, they took the lap down because the tires were Slicks.
But M, technicalement, MikeyD doesn't owe you anything because it was due to Slicks not the ride height, or the street-use or not. So they say

...just one of many convenient reasons - per jeremy clarkson, the power board is for street cars only...

I know, which is why they took the Renault F1 car down a few seasons back as well. But what he technically says is the Slicks. And Clarkson-Word is law in LT Country. As of today.
I kid, but still you both might as well drop the bet because (I argue a lot, sometimes to cure boredom, but still I know quite a bit about arguing) both of you could argue that either of you are right with valid points on either side, so I think this bet is now null. Mikey wins on a technicality, you win with suspicion that JC's covering up a real reason. Everyone's a winner!
