The Evora is significantly more expensive

There were no Evoras for around 2 years

Isn't it great to have a car that no one else in the world has... literally.

Many on here have a 1 of 1 built with options, color etc. I will NEVER pull up to a light and see another '11 CO "S" /Cocobolo 2+0 next to me. And, I like it that way

It's more accurate to compare it to the Elise that outsold it 3:1 in the initial two years

2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 S PDK
2013 Evora NA IPS Nightfall Blue/Oyster
2015 VW Golf GTI DSG APR Stage 1

I've always loved the Elise. When the 4C came out, I very nearly bought one, but couldn't get past the dual-clutch. I'm a purist. I ended up buying an Elise. It's incredible how well the design has held up, going on almost 20 years! Next to each other, the Alfa is clearly more modern, but the Elise is the sweeter car. Holy hell is that Alfa beautiful though...

Alfa - 164 US dealers
Lotus - 40 dealers
Just because it's local: Alfa: 16 cars available in NJ from 4 dealers, average price around $75k (remember when this was going to be like $55k?); Lotus 2 dealers, one of whose website is down, so at least 2 cars, avg price of $103k

Yes there is a big price difference and the Evora is a heavy V6 pig compared to the 4C. I test drove a 4C and would love to own one, but I won't give up my Evora to do so. Tried to get my wife to buy one but no go. She wasn't going to deal with it as a DD. So there is not one in my garage and probably won't ever be one as there are other cars higher on my wish list.

First of all this poster only has 7 post and gives no hard evidence of his claim. The Alpha dealer I know has had the same 2 4Cs collecting dust for months.

For a laugh please see...

...and this is car is selling like hot cakes huh?

I do agree the 400 isn't flying of the shelf, but I would love to see where you can access sells / production numbers.

In addition, the two cars aren't in the same category.

I'll be looking at the 4C the next go around for a purchase. Evora was a fun car, but short warranty and spotty service from local dealership make me hesitant on the 400.

If the Lotus could be fixed correctly the first time or I wasn't being told I was getting ripped off; I'd be all over the 400.

4C is a lovely looking car; like a work of art. More of an art piece than the Evora. Alfa is very close to my heart; more so than Lotus. Lotus is more of an aspiration brand, where Alfa is actually something regular people can buy.

Either car is great... At least the Evora comes in a manual...

2011 Lotus Evora - Aspen White
2015 Volvo S60 T5 E AWD
2005 Range Rover HSE

Not arguing with your post in general, but it's actually pretty easy to find car sales figures: November 2016 YTD U.S. Passenger Car Sales Rankings - Top 163 Best-Selling Cars In America - Every Car Ranked - GOOD CAR BAD CAR

2015 + 2016 Nov YTD for Alfa 4C says 1,060.

This always makes me laugh when I hear car people brag about things like this:

"This is the only Evora with with this color and wheel option". It's like trying to validate a purchase.
Oh, is owning 1 of < 5000 cars not exclusive enough for you?

Thankfully, I don't see many Lotus owners doing this.

I don't think that comment is trying to validate a purchase. I think its pretty cool to own a "rarer example" of an already rare car. I find myself watching classic car auctions from time to time and the cars that are rare factory spec'ed cars are typically more sought after. Not saying that the Evora is or ever will be considered a classic, just saying as an example. Many car enthusiasts do this across the board.

And if you don't think Lotus owners check that stuff...why not go look at the Certificate of Provenance stickies for the Eliges and Evoras.

The Evora 400 has only been in the states for a month or two (IIRC), and so far there are only IPS cars available. So it's too early to say how it's selling isn't it? I'm not sure how it's been selling world-wide since 2015.

Another concern potential buyers have re Lotus is whether they will be around in the future. I talked to a guy recently who ended up buying a 400 but was was under the impression that the company was nearly bankrupt.

It's one thing to seek cars with track packs or specific options. I get that completely.
It's another to brag about owning a car that has a very specific option selection.

It's more geared towards how some car owners brag like: "My blue 2004 mustang is one of 100, 2004 mustangs with a bose stereo and a retractable antenna."

Yes, I know there are people who do this and I laugh at the idea that they want to be their own special snowflake.

And I fully believe the Evora will become a classic, it's a rare, great car with very few competitors in the same segment.

FWIW, I see probably 2 or 3 Evoras on the road for every 1 4C. I live within 10 miles of both a Lotus and an Alfa dealer.

The 4c is not a fair comparison to the size and comfort of the Evora, but compared to an Elise, it's light years ahead. Lotus had better pray they don't go after the Evora market with a comparable model, it's check mate.

Same here, I have only seen one 1 4C (I'm in Snoqualmie). I followed it off 520 and down the road towards Park Place when I was coming in for a service. Sharp looking car! For me, I see more Ferrari and Lambo's than I do Lotus. Before purchasing mine, I had only seen 3 others...a yellow, red and a Krypton green.
