Please tell us where you drove this car at 140mph.

Be prepared - if it's not on a track or a famous road in Germany, we aren't going to be nice to you.

But as noted, please search for LSUDominates

Just looking at the photo - unless a passenger took this photo (which the angle leads me to believe did NOT happy)....you took a picture of the dash with your phone while driving a car at 140mph?

Not smart.

My thoughts exactly It's pretty clear by the reflection in the dash panel that it's a driver snapped photo. Pretty frightening. Glad I am on the other Coast and keeping a safe distance

Yup, about 205 feet PER SECOND!
Ahhhhhh.....
I know when I'm on the track, I don't take out my iPhone and take a shot of the speedo while going down the front straight of NHMS!

Hate to say it, but he was. KMO drew attention to it. If you look at the dash, you can see his reflection with the phone in the right hand.

I won't sugar coat it. Insanely dumb.

I reached 172,7 which is 278 km/h on German Highway once. Was too shaky to take a picutre but the Navi (the magic Alpine) confirmed it. Anyhow, the car still stays on the road even it is a bit... scary caus you are not used to such speed.
But I was surprised how the Evora rolled.

well, there isnt really a defense. And i thought about taking the post down. so i agree pretty stupid on a couple of fronts.

mitigating factors;

1. I was on a basically deserted road that because i had crested the high point of the road i could see approximately 5-7 miles of basically straight road. Empty. (and I was by myself)

2. the photo is actually a screen shot of a video, flipped my phone to video and at one point just took some video, got lucky with one clean photo.

But out of curiosity. How fast is too fast? ( i would say on a appropriate road - i can think of some stretches of asphalt between san diego and say phoenix that are ideal.) and please dont say anything over the posted limit, most of us (probably all) of us speed to a certain extent. Hopefully none of us are weaving in or out of traffic, or going much faster than prevailing traffic.

now for impressions: what impressed me was that between 100 to say 120 i could feel the speed in the car. But at or around 120mph - I honestly felt like the car just became more solid, more planted, more stable. I probably maxed out around 145 had plenty of road in front of me.

Hey asulil ... Just irresponsible IMO. Assume this is on public roads which makes it not one of your brighter moments.

If you drive from Kalamata to Athens in Greece, there's a national highway that goes on for 32 km and is straight as an arrow. There are no exits or entrances other than where it begins and ends, and is flanked by cement barriers. It's 3 lanes wide and you can literally see 5-6 km ahead. It was just built and is smooth as glass. I was on it this summer in a rented Hyundai i30 (1.4L engine, I would guess 120 hp max). There was one other car the entire time on the road. I caned the little Hyundai up to 135 km/h before the engine sounded like it was going to explode LOL

If I had a Veyron I'm pretty sure I could have sent it into orbit on that road....

Here is the link to a better way of doing it! 290 KPH, or 180 mph.
The speed is GPS based, so more accurate than your dash.

Have to admit that it once got "faster than I intended" on an on ramp. I'd not had the S very long. Surprised me, did not plan to go that fast.

"But officer there was no intent"

Not the easiest car to operate legally.
