In Person opinion -
1. Red one was ok, Black one was GORGEOUS. 2. I want one. 3. Alpine did well for their part. 4. Damn that boot is tiny. 5. Back seat, uh, yeah, is worth while. 6. Next to the Porsche; Evora all the way. 7. I want one. 8. The tires oddly look thinner than the rims. 9. The red one looked like the rear end was escaping - somewhat amiss. 10. The doors closed SOLID, CLUNK! 11. Extruded Aluminum Pedal parts, and hatch hinges (Sweet) 11. Wait, wait, WTF? Steel door hinges? Yes, and they're odd. 12. I WANT ONE. 13. REAR CAMERA??? REVERSE SENSORS????? HOLY CRAPOLA ALPINE! 14. No photo does the car justice. 15. Headlight washers, xenon headlamps, and Cruise Control? Next to an Elise, it fits quite well. The roof line is about 12" longer... and damn are those seats comfy. Gorgeous car. Oh yeah, and the gentlemen from Lotus could not have been kinder. It was a great showing.

Wish I could have been there, I'm stuck in Tucson for work this week. The car looks fantastic, I love the shot with the 911 Turbo in the background. It's nice when a manufacturer isn't afraid to start over in the design department.

I agree no pictures do it justice. Every picture I had seen was underwellming and I wasn't impressed. Then I saw it in person and then everything changed I want one as well. It looks like the Elise's older more civilized brother. I think I will wait a few years untill they introduce the "S" version.

Once I have an opportunity to take one out on the road to photograph it and possibly get it in the warehouse for a controlled lighting shoot, I willl be able to get it to come alive. In such tight quarters, it is difficult to shoot any vehicle with a wide angle lens without distorting the correct perspectives of the design.
My best description is to say: The car was emotionally involving without even driving it.

I agree... I'm not usually a huge fan of white cars, but for some reason it looks pretty sick on this one (and the exige, let's be honest). White with the black wheels and red interior FTW!

I saw the red one at LOG29 driving around the Barber Motorsports Park driveway. I was a little disappointed that you almost can't hear the exhaust.
It's very quiet. It DOES look much better in person. No photos do the car justice. The red looks proper on an exotic car.

Re: Exhaust, the Lotus guys told us that these cars are UK spec vehicles and the exhaust is quiet on purpose - they are not allowed to have one with any sound. They didn't think the US one would ship like that.

Is there an ETA on when the Evoras will be available for sale in the U.S.? I remember it was suppose to be early 2010. Has that changed?

from what they were speculating, late 2009 is still an accurate assessment for a delivery - but that could change.
they also said that they're planning to make 2000 worldwide, and that under 1000 would be headed to the US the headlight washers were really nifty - according to the Lotus guys, they had to install one in order to have HID's on the car. The Black one had a completely different appeal IMHO - it was an entity more than a car and even the Lotus guys said that it is probably the best looking color. I'll take a black one with the red interior please (just like my Elise).
