PES does not respond.

Charlie calls me within minutes of contacting him. Real Pro. Car runs great.

We're losing sight of the question here. This man has a PES tune that presumably "works"/has been reliable and he's asking if it's worth it to swap tunes.

He isn't asking which route to go if you were untuned, or which one you prefer! But I think charlie answered that just fine.

Thanks, yes, BM has hit the nail on the head. When I bought the SC, from forcedfed, only the Pez tune was available.

The car does run well, I was just looking to see what a KatanaTune would bring to the picture. It sounds worth the relatively simple process, though it means no lotus for a week. With the frigging rain here in the NE, there hasn’t been much Lotus time anyhow!

Before you go swapping out tunes, get your car dynoed and see how it is working. Whatever my car put down is not what you car put down. It is much cheaper and less time to do that first. If the numbers look good, af looks nice, car idles and drives well, don't bother

Nearest dyno is 100+miles or so round trip and either (a) a Hick dyno or (b) a rice dyno. Not to sound elitist, but I can see one of these guys making a mistake easily with a fragile car like the lotus. My last dyno day was up in hartford ct with my old mini JCW, I was horrified at the lack of professionalism I saw there.

Mind if I ask what county you're in? I know of a few dynos much closer than that depending on where you are. For example, I dynoed my car when it was stock at a place in Danbury with another Lotus owner (MSF111 on here) and all was well. Actually, the only problem was they crossed the tie-down straps under the exhaust which is obviously a hazard because they can burn, but I'd just request they don't do that in the future.

There's also one at my mechanic in Westchester county if you're close by.

Pick a date and I'll meet you in Danbury or anywhere else in CT and you can compare your HP to my Stock 06 Katana. Also maybe we can get Scott P to join in with his 05 Katana tuned. That way you can compare apples to apples.

I'll also bring my car. I expect to do the Charliex tune either way.

My car is otherwise stock except for a BWR and a Larini muffler.

If you guys are in the NY/CT area. I have a few dyno shop recommendation if you need.

Hudson Historics - Ask for Ryan 914-941-8559

These guys are very familiar with Lotus and other Track Vehicles.

You are making a wise choice - I have watched all the back and forth for a couple years now and every time I see the same result, The PES tune was/is a hack - I have seen it first hand at track events while I was enjoying my Ronin/Charlie track day, PES tuned cars were having "Issues" ! I think of a PES tune like a sprained ankle - You can put a little bit of weight on it and even walk but try and run on it for 20 minutes!
