Code P1302 1302

I threw this code this weekend at the track, anyone else had it? Its for a misfire on cylinder 3 I think. It happened when I was holding the throttle steady at 6k possibly decelerating a little before nailing it out of a sweeper.

I pulled the plugs and switched them around and put some 100 octane in it and it didn't happen again.

I am PES/BWR/cup intake/stage II exhaust if that means anything

6000 RPM "Safe" Limit

I think that I had this code earlier in the year. I could find no explanation of it and everything worked normally once it was cleared. The ECU appeared to limit RPM to 6000 until it was cleared.

I have had the same RPM limit situation on other occassions and there have been no active codes. However, the situation was resolved on each occassion when a signal was sent to the ECU to "clear codes".

Last weekend it hapened twice. Each time was about 1 hour after a track session in which the engine had cut out due to fuel starvation on long left hand turns at lateral Gs over 1.2 for 2-3 seconds. There were approx 2 gals of fuel in the cell at the time and the engine picked up again once the Gs diminished at the end of the turns.

I hate to tell you, but you guys should pull your valve cover and check your cams:
Camshaft cover defect causing rocker-arm breakage (P1302)?
Code 1302 & 1301 years and miles

You had a misfire. It might be the cams/rockers, so be sure to check them out. BUT, it also could be from arcing between the coil packs and the coil tube. Click and read those links Den.
