Can you make the speedo movement smooth? Right now it ticks for every 1mph

Probably not the speedo is a swiss motor with a custom cpu in the cluster, i'd have to buy an additional programmer for that one.

S is being worked on,
TC reset after its disabled i won't do, Same as the reset of the data logger, i don't want the dealers or lotus yelling at me any more than they do.
I don't have any PM's !

I live in las vegas, there are 3 or 4 empty houses on my street, and the head of lotus usa lives across the street from me.

I think really most of us just want 200 @ the wheels with bolt-ons and not having to open the engine (too much)....I think poeple would be comfortable if it required new camshafts.

Charlie,

I had my center console out for a while, the ECU got unhappy and now ignores the TC OFF switch. You're saying that before you reprogram, I need to get the dealer to reset that? Or will they still be able to reset it after your mods?

+1 I would love a Sector 111 kit that included an air intake, new exhaust, and a chip with the speedo correction + lower cam change and tuned for these mods.

Kind of like a poor man's forcefed turbo or tri point sc package.

Charlie, you've done some hard work and the results look outstanding. Apparently that little ecu is capable of offering quite a bit more than I would have guessed. I'm glad you find your work stimulating, I'm ignorrant about it and stay in the areas I do well in.

I've always been reliant on knock sensors and toluene to keep out of trouble. The scan tools don't display knocks. Neither can the Tech 3 as I understand. Can you display knocking from the stock non resonating sensor? You mentioned it being able to be displayed on the cluster. Can you elaborate? Thanks

I'm just going to throw this out there, because this would be WAY long term down the road.

But is there the POSSIBLITY, that the Lotus ECU values could be tweaked enough to let it run a Honda K20? They have similar capabilites and similar layouts. Probably use similar sensors (as far as voltage output is concerned).

It would require a serious engine harness hack....but think of the powa.

I know Charlie won't have the time to do this in the close future, if ever, but maybe once this thing is released into the public, poeple will start playing around with the idea and we'll get something truly amazing.

uhhh

>But is there the POSSIBLITY, that the Lotus ECU values could be tweaked enough to let it run a Honda K20? They have similar capabilites and similar layouts. Probably use similar sensors (as far as voltage output is concerned).

its possible, the ecu is capable of running ,any different engine configurations, i'm not that familiar with the control strategy for the K20, but honda is one of the oems listed as being able to work. pretty significant change though

the scan tool should show the number of knock or pre knock counts, i can see the A/D sensors value in real time and push it around the car, say the idea being that the water temp only shows when its cold or too hot, and the rest of the time it could show af or knock, or something else on the cluster thats connected to the can bus.

>I had my center console out for a while, the ECU got unhappy and now ignores the TC OFF switch. You're saying that before you reprogram, I need to get the dealer to reset that? Or will they still be able to reset it after your mods?

yes, the dealer, lotus actually, has to reset your TC first.

>Sent an IM to the first choice on list of choices to Instant Message you (bunch of numbers). Did you check there?

ahh i usually ony have ichat/AIM on my mac , since thats the only thing its good for

>+1 I would love a Sector 111 kit that included an air intake, new exhaust, and a chip with the speedo correction + lower cam change and tuned for these mods.

this is one of the things they're working on.

charlie, i'm trying to put a cruise control in my '06 elise.
i asked for info that i needed, from the group.
i was surprised at the number of people contacting me for further info so they might do a similar thing.
i'm thinking that there's more than enough capability in the system, TBW, tach pulses in the ECU, road speed, brake application and so on.
all the hardware except an engagement switch is in.

many of us really do drive our cars on the road nearly daily and would pay for a tidy installation.
it's difficult to maintain a set speed and easily wind up zooming along, not realizing it. $$$$$$$$$$$!
respectfully, sam

+1 on cruise control. I would love it for road trips. Maybe override the trip odo reset button?

For what it's worth, there is a gentleman out there who has been putting Honda motors in Lotus cars for many years. He brought his supercharged K20-powered Elise to the South Bay BBQ. It was beautiful work. His name escapes me at the moment, but if you're serious, someone here could probably put you in touch with him.

PS. Charlie is the man. There, see? Now post is on-topic.

Charlie,

After your reflash will the ECU still be readable for the purpose of passing state emissions testing? I can't see why not, but figured it's best to ask.

Just to get way out there, did anyone suggest having the trip reporting V1 signals? I've seen this for BMW's and it is bitchin. This is probably priority #632 on the list, but.....

Question Turbo tunning

Well Some one has to ask.
I have in the works a turbo kit for my car, and the question comes to mind could you tune the stock ECU to run with 550 injectors and handle the Turbo fuel and ignition timing?

I ask because you probably have your car set up this way
