jlipper,

I recommend you remove your phone number from the previous post. It's not a good idea to post such things on a board. Also to contact Charlie you'd have more success at www.moremonkey.com

Hey Charlie,

I'm installing an AEM UEGO gauge with the wideband Bosch sensor. It has a 0 - 1v output available, will that work with your reflashed ECU as the O2 sensor input, or will I need to weld a separate bung on the cat for the wideband sensor?

Depends on the wideband 02 sensor used, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, the 1V 'simulation' is flakey at best, more of an emulation.

Sounds like I need to weld another bung on the cat so I can run the old O2 sensor along with the broadband. Oh well.

Hi Charlie,
I have several questions, I've read every post in this thread several times and also the MM ones. My car is car is on a serious diet, similar to Niels, and at the end of the build I want to bring it out to you in Vegas to get tuned. I saw that you and Frank have the ecu running the wide band, can this display on the lotus cluster? I am also wondering if you can display oil pressure, oil temp, boost, egt, or others in the cluster? My car will be a track only car and I want to remove the evap canister/ charcoal canister box, will this cause a MIL or can you delete the signal to the ecu for it? You say that there are spare ports for additional sensors in the ecu for data logging, can you explain? Can I see in and out oil temps if sesors are added, in and out charge temps for an intercooler? I have a FF race header that is being changed slightly before I have it coated and was wondering if I need to add a third o2 bung for wideband or can I replace the second stock narrowband w/ the wideband. Do you need both o2's even w/ out a cat. I can go on and on, but I hope to talk to you soon about a few more things. I can PM you my number if that would be easier. Also I talked to you @ the Southbay farewell, when you were doing my ecu for the cam switch, about a race gas tune. I have an almost unlimited supply of 113 octane and want to take advantage of it. I gave Niel and Shinoo a drum get a tune for, but I know he is very busy trying to get his car finished. If you or Frank need/want gas for Gotham or Ronin let me know. Thanks and sorry for the novel. Talk to you soon.
Brent

Heya Brent, i saw the drum at Sector the other nite, the funny thing was i can use it, had a gallon of gas in the tank as i was leaving sector to head back to vegas, but they didn't pity me

You can do all of the things mentioned, but all the customisation can get expensive, the usual stuff is no problem, mil etc, the lotus cluster just doesn't have that much space to put things in it so its better to go with a race style cluster, you'd be looking in the area of $1,000 just for a display.

You could use the stock second sensor , and even leave it in with a wideband with a 1v output too.
Car should be ok decatted with no rear sensor ,just mil's.

There are a couple of spare ports for sensors yes.

Charlie,
I was in Vegas last weekend for a race and should have gottten ahold of you. I had to transport a five barrels back to Ca. No fun. I would like to replace the cluster w/ an Aim or Race Technology. Is it possible for the ECU to communicate w/ these. I have the entire wiring harness out right know and would do this now if possible. All our race cars are Motec and was going to go that route until I heard of the things you could do w/ the Lotus ECU. Anyway my car is in pieces, I'm making progress but keep going overboard on things. I have new Toyos that really want to get burt up at another of Jack's track day so I better solve some problems and get back to work. Thanks

Yeah the AIM will work, you'll get the basic CAN stuff that the cluster shows without altering the ecu, a lot of other stuff can be added.

I might see you at a track jack or in LV then,.

The non piggyback 2005 Elise Ronin SC tune has been finished and is on sale via sector.

New S tune will be launched first Q of August 07.

You can preview the S tune in Las Vegas or if you see me around as i'm street testing it, but other than that no details are yet available on it. I just got back from cali, but no doubt i'll be out that way again shortly.

I tuned a 12.5PSI Hass turbo car with no piggyback, waiting to see how it turns out.

charlie -

Can you expand upon the S tune - is it a pulley swap too - or just a tune?

WW (who gets his car back Friday)

Details should be announced before LOG.

Hass car owner is so far still content, but still waiting on real data for that one.

Charlie, Could you please call me when you get a chance? Your voicemail is doing wonky things and does not seem to be recording. My number should be in an e mail. Thank you, Buz

Are you keeping a bank of maps that you do, that way if someone has a similar setup as a previous tune you can dial it in sooner? It may make poeple more eager to get certain part combinations if they know there is a half way reliable map available.
