For people with my tunes interested in pc/laptop diagnostics

after being at the track and talking to people i've decided to ressurrect my version of the diagnostics software.

If you've got one of my recent tunes (earlier 05 katana owners would need an update) and a suitable cable, j2534 can bus/k line support such as the mongoose, drop me an email to charlie AT goth.am with subject line of "beta test lotus diagnostics software" and i'll add yo to the list, include which car you have, and which cable.

it'll only work with 06 katana/ronn/gotham tunes, you might need an update for the 05 katana, especially if its more than a few months old, this has nothing to do with the tune, its more about the diagnostic features being off.

windows support initially only, software will be free of charge, and it won't work with anything other than one of my tunes, i have no plans to release anything support the others, this is basically a thank you to people who bought mine.

I will be adding more support for cheaper cables, i realise the mongoose is very expensive, i've ordered a few different setups as i get them in test them i'll add it to the program, i'll probably start off with the elm cable since its super cheap however it does not support the CAN protocol, so it'll have less parameters to data log.

i'll probably support windows 2000 through vista, and then linux, debian / ubuntu.

the cheapest source of elmscan cables i've found is around $50, but no CAN bus.

I posting the following later today looking for a solution to the incomplete monitor problem.

2006 Katana Supercharger reflashed computer is giving me the following incomplete monitor problem:

Inc (Incomplete) - Vehicle was not driven enough under proper conditions to complete the monitor.

I have driven the car about 60 miles and I am still getting the Inc on the following.

Catalyst, 02, H02, Evaporative are the not ready monitors.

I have no trouble codes.

Questions:

1. How many miles do I need to drive to clear the incomplete monitors normally?

2. Could this be a indication of a computer problem?

3. Does the problem relate to the Katana Supercharger reflash?

i'll just put tape over it.

I think the software is ready to start going out to beta testers, i'm just locking the hardware side down.

record and playback with min/max in the gauges, or view in a csv style viewer, which there are legions of, even excel, i'll also include my viewer too.

the blue/purple markers are the min/max for that gauge.

you can record about 8 hours of data at about 32ms per gauge.

I've sent out the first build of the diagnostic tools, affectionally called "plastic toaster', we needed some help on a particular car so i ended up fast tracking it, unfortunately for me i thought it was a 2006 car so i stayed up til the wee hours making a 2006 version, and then found out an hour or so ago its a 2005 car so i ended up making the 2005 version too.

its currently setup to work with the j2534 cables, however i only test on the mongoose/cardaqs and scandaqs other makers of j2534 cables may not support the CAN protocols that drewtech do, i'll eventually offer it for other cables, i wish the mongoose was cheaper but there it is.

i don't suggest buying a mongoose just yet unless you have a specific need, hopefully i'll have some cheaper options in january.

i'll start pushing out to those on the beta request list once i've confirmed my late nite hacking sessions worked.

it'll currently work on 2006 katana/ronin and gotham's. the 2005s katana unfortunately need an updated program, the VF kits are supported too, basically any of my tunes, including the NAs, however as i said the 2005 cars that aren't VF kits will need an update, even if its a recent one. i'm not charging for that update EXCEPT shipping i can also reflash your ecu if you catch me on my travels.

i've tried to keep it as simple as possible, it displays some common stuff, records it, playsback and saves it to a CSV file, i use megalogviewer but i might finish up my CSV viewer and include it, they also work in excel.

2008+ cars need a special version, but i have that too..

I'll probably supply an 'advanced' version to professional shops/mechanics for a small fee, etc, unfortunately since lotus turned off the advanced CAN diagnostics, you can't use it on a stock ECU, and unfortunately lotus might not want their dealers using my software, but feel free to ask them / me anyway. Of course feel free to sign up for the free version too, i have no problem with the free version being used for commercial use ( just don't resell it ).. I support way more parameters than the Tech III., but you should probably contact me directly if you need something specific.


In the pipepline is also a bluetooth version of the adapter and my new in car pc should arrive next tuesday so i'll be incorporating into that.

its only logging/diagnostic software not tuning software btw


And because its Xmas and i'm an atheist, I'm making a second vesion of the software thats K Line and OBD II compatible, it has more OBD II PID's than anyone else is offering and it'll work on any ECU before 2008, again 2008 is the big change year, so i'll add that too, its a lot slower since its K line but it does read more PIDS than any other scan tool, but not as much info as if you were using one of my tools.
