For the serious racer or track participant…

I think it’s fair to say that the EFI USA/DRS ECU system serves us well.

I selected an EFI USA ECU because of its versatility and support. I have at my finger tips the ability to make any changes necessary for part swaps or fine tuning of the map that different race tracks might require to get the very best out of the engine.

I went all-out and had Kris at DRS build mil-spec harnesses for both the ECU and the Pi Omega 2 dash. Not only that but I have sensors to monitor such things as brake pressure and suspension travel – all of mil-spec quality.

The control features of the ECU allows us to optimize the engine mapping, such as high resolution, wideband closed-loop Lambda, DBW control, VVT-I mapping, etc. A map SW for enduros or yellow flags for example with a light indicating what map I am in is just one of the many features available. (It is quite suitable for turbo applications too.)

Support from Kris at DRS and Phil at BOE have been excellent. And to those who might inquire, my car idles just fine. Drivability is superb as well.

We were happy to build a system for Don.

Here are some pics from testing at Thunderbolt.

We're pretty excited about the Pi Research Omega dash and logger systems.

There are a lot of dash displays on the market to choose from. Some offering more than others. We have found the Omega D2 system to offer a good balance of high end features at a competitive price.
