uhhh, well it looks like I'll have to include a bunch of legalese along with these
![]() Didn't even think about the airbag thing. I don't see how it would pose an issue and you would think to go off you would need to complete the circuit by closing the sensors behind the front fascia via accident. However you would think the alarm would work with the interior light being in any position too- so who knows- it is British afterall. Does this mean beating your thumbs on the wheel while rocking out to some good tuneage could give you a face full of airbag too? Anyway, install at your own risk, and if you choose to, I guess you shouldn't pry the old one off and just put this one over it. If any one is doing this over the new info and is one of the few that have already paid, I will gladly give you a refund. And if anyone is just laying in the bushes waiting to sue me and get their hands on some of that SweetDaddyDelicious money- well I don't really have anything. Technically a safety warning should be added to any part installed on the car. A front splitter could affect away the air bag sensors are triggered and deployed. As well as a clam repair, or carbon fiber one. Starshield vs non starshield could even have an effect. Any suspension, wheel, or tire mod could effect the handling, braking, ABS, etc. A carbon fiber door panel may react different in an accident than a leather one, possibly increasing the chance of spleen laceration. Be careful out there folks. If you saw zoolander you could even die in a innocent gasoline fight accident just while filling up. It's a scary scary world out there folks. Be careful. *** do not pry the OEM badge off***
I spoke with a Lotus Mechanic to double check if a complete replacement was possible. He said no and that it would be very important that I pass on this information to everyone here. The airbag actually breaks through the front black area of the steering wheel at the horizontal line going through the badge. The badge is designed to let go of one half and say connected with the other half so as not to become a projectile while not hindering the release of the airbag.
