The really light stuff™ intercooler for the Exige S, Exige S220 and S240:

Lotus offers an upgraded intercooler for the Cup cars that is a bolt in for the factory Intercooler. Problem? It's $2200! Our solution? The bar & plate intercooler from really light stuff™. This intercooler, fabricated by Bell, the leaders in intercooling, features bar & plate design which has a higher flow rate than the Lotus cup intercooler. Additionally, the thermal capacitance is higher to reduce temperature spikes. The net result is the best intercooler solution possible for your Exige at a fraction of the cost. Available in aluminum or black anodized finish. Couple with really light stuff™ 6061 IC tubes for the ultimate in charge cooling.

The really light stuff™ IC tubes for the Exige S, Exige S220 and S240:

Lotus used heavy cast aluminum tubes for the Exige S to connect the supercharger to the intercooler and the intercooler to the engine. Why? Because its inexpensive. really light stuff™ uses cutting edge aerospace manufacturing to make aluminum mandrel bends this tight. Exotic yes, however these tubes save almost 3 pounds of high center of gravity weight and look great in the process. Gone is the rough finish and casting seams of the stock parts. Your choice of clear anodize to match the stock pipes, black anodize to match the intercooler, or unfinished so you can powder coat them to match your car. Optional is a tig welded bung to relocate your intake air temp sensor to use with water injection.

Better flow: 1. Bar & plate is less restrictive. 2. thicker core supporting more volume at a given velocity

Less heat: 1. Bigger core for more heat transfer 2. Higher thermal capacitance i.e. takes more heat to heat soak.

Water Injection port for even colder charge.

Remember that the rls Intercooler is available with either the stock Bosch IAT mount or the Aquamist nozzle mount / bung. (Aquamist nozzle mount / bung requires use of rls Tubes w/IAT - relocate option, sold separately.)

Also available is a carbon fiber duct to replace the ABS plastic shroud that is glued to the stock intercooler. The ABS shroud that is glued to the stock intercooler can be removed, but it isn't much fun. It will take you 1/2 an hour and dozens of curse words to remove.
