If others report the same thing, then he prob just cast based on the OEM piece.. which means it is "supposed" to have that gap. So maybe it's not a prototype issue.

Would be nice to retain the sueded piece on the corner of the door, with the c/f. But I guess that could risk too many different surfaces in one place (in which case the door panel center piece could be redone in alcantara/suede).

The small gap on the inner diameter of the surround's mounting surface (visible in the picture above) would need to be remedied though. Do you have more pics/angles you can post of the interior pieces? Seeing them all installed at one time would also be beneficial. The more pics, the better. I'm drooling over this right now. (so wait..maybe I DON'T need more pics, to sooth my aching wallet...lol)
Whew, my doors have gaps as well. But if no one else did, I'd look like I was trying to pull a fast one. The surrounds I'm hoping will be here in five weeks. When they come in I'll install one and take a bunch of pictures for you. I may be running out of entry sills and dashes soon so if you want one please let me know. Of the three pieces I have so far the fit has been right on.

Ara, I'll ask about why wet is less than mat. I would be guessing if I gave you an answer now.

cheers,
Jacob

It is because it is more difficult to make raw carbon fiber look good as a "matte" finish, to be smooth, and finished looking beyond simply bathing it in a clearcoat to be polished up for the wet look.

Are there plans to make more or is this a limited run? Not sure if I can pull the trigger on the whole kit right now. But come closer to the holidays it may be doable. Although of this pieces you are running low on, I am only concerned about the entry sills. I don't think I would do that top dash panel though.

Are the Entry Sills able to go out via USPS Priority mail? If so I would be very interested in picking up a set in Matt finish...

Smoky,
We will have more, but they can only produce so many so fast and to get it shipped here takes awhile. So once we run out we won't have anymore for two months or so.

Cool, if not then it may be easier to have them ship directly to me here in Japan... Military mail can only come via USPS and there is no import tax, but if they can ship directly to my Japan address that would also be OK with the exception of the Japanese customs tax raping me...

i'm not sure which one I like better, I'd have to see the matte finish in person, but I think I'd prefer the duller finish.

Love the carbon & leather door panel.

Ara,
When are you in the Santa Monica area next? If you give a heads up we can meet somewhere and you can check them out.

Cheers,
Jacob

For those that have contacted me on purchasing these items. We are currently working on setting up a paypal account and figuring out shipping and handling cost. I will be contacting you individually once we have some solid answers for you.

Thanks for being patient.
