If the CF in matt finish does not have clearcoat, is it susceptible to UV damage?

If UV is not an issue for the matt CF, I would be interested in:

entry sills
centre and rear cup console
surround
binnacle cover
dash panel
door panels

In that order.

You should clear coat to protect against UV. I use a matt or semi glass clear coat to finish as well as Uv protect the surface. The clear coat is not as tough as the raw epoxy, but it can easly be refinished or buffed out if scratched

Saw these pieces in person on Wednesday in the matt finish. Very good looking pieces with a nice finish. Might have to put in an order in for a dash.

I've got a message in to find out what our process is and will let everyone know as soon as I do. Thanks Kev for the question and Thank you UD for the suggestion.

Kev
Kev,
I just got word that all of the products have a special anti-UV coating and have been tested in the Hong Kong sun for two years.

Tony Woo did ask me to convey to everyone that the mat finished CF should NEVER be waxed.

I was also told that all of the exterior parts have been tested on the track for their aerodynamic function.

cheers,
Jacob

Chris,
If you really want the dash I only have one left. Please let me know ASAP. I can't get it this week for hump day for you to look at, but will try and get it for the following week.

I thought you weren't free on Wednesday?

I'll see if I can get Andy to come out with both the sills and the dash.

FYI Mopho was saying that he may make the meet every other week. To keep interest up. So I'm not positive there is a meet this week.

I read through the thread and sorry if this has already been asked but is the dash just a cover? I know the Binnacle is just a cover but wasn't sure about the dash itself.

and +1 for the wet sills in stock!

The dash is a complete replacement part. Unlike the Binnacle cover which is... well a cover

I'll let you guys know as soon as the wet finish sills are instock.

Non in stock. They'll hopefully being made and will ship soon. I was wondering when you were going to ask me about them

Off topic we're going karting on Wednesday Aug 6th, 7:30 at K1 in Anaheim.
I'll have a sample of the entry sills, dash and possibly the front splitter on a car for everyone to check out.

Cheers,
Jacob

I saw the K1 thread, but I'm still 50/50 if I can make it that night. Maybe I'll just come to check out the carbon pieces.

The Dash cover looks great, but how does it do with reflections? I couldn't help but notice that you could see the reflection of the weave in the windshield. Does it hinder visibility any more than the stock dash?

Thanks.
