Any reports after using the cables for a while? With or without LETSLA linkage?

Seems like an excellent product -- no issues.

I use it with the LETSLA II linkage (after a drilling and tapping for the larger bolt) and the stock bracket. Stock shifter and cross (imperative) throw length.

Improved Gear Shift cable - Now at BWR

Blackwatch Racing ( BWR ) is now the distributor for this product for the US/Can market.

Here is the link to the item on thier site: -

Blackwatch Racing - Lotus Elise and Exige Superchargers, Parts, and Accessories

Feedback from those who have purchased has been excellent.

Even if you dont track your car, you will eventually need to replace the Shift cable. From BRW at US$299 it is lower cost than factory replacement - for a significantly better product.

I have had mine installed for about a month now and after a few minor adjustments and 6 track days it works much better than stock. More positive shifting and very smooth. Great product. Highly recommend.

I've personally broken the stock shifter cable, hence when SSC approached us it was a no-brainer. Soon as I get the chance, one of these is going on the XP Lotus!

Wish I saw this before I installed my LETSLA.

Does it effectively get rid of the shifter cable buzz/rattle at certain RPMs?

No Buzz or Rattle. Just clean shifting with control.

Improved Gear Shift cable - Now at BWR

BWR is getting low on these now but more will be winging there way to them soon.

Feedback has been encouraging and many thanks for your support.

Incidently, the heat shielding we use on the cables is 'Thermo-sleeve' by US Thermo-Tec. Aluminised Heat barrier. Reflects 90% of radiant heat. Fireproof and oil resistant. More about it here: -

In response to questions, here are some additional photos. The kit includes a new ¼” shoulder screw to fit the spherical rod end (Heim joint) to the gear lever – complete with washers and locknut.

From the SSC Fitting Instructions: “Using a hacksaw, cut the back side of the existing ball pin flush with the gear lever bracket and then twist it out. Once released run a ¼” drill carefully through the hole. (must be an exact ¼” drill, not metric)”.

SSC supply only an improved stronger gear shift cable and gear lever bolt. You retain the other factory crossgate cable. We have not broken any crossgate cables and the more positive feel of our cable would only marginally improve the crossgate feel - so SSC opted to do the shift cable only.
Why is the bracket BENT?

Some brackets are like this from the factory and others straighter. Does not effect the motion of the spherical bearing in the SSC shift cable rod end.

So if you already have a LETSLA kit I imagine that you do not disassemble the tranny end of the cable and slide the aluminum sleeves over... you'd probably just keep the cable end "as delivered".... correct?

Transfer these ^ puppies ^ over?

Also do you have a PDF of the installation instructions?

Thanks!
