well i just got my shift knob in the mail. it looks great, and i love the weight of it. it does have the wrong logo on it though. also the thread size is different then the stock shift knob. the stock knob has smaller diameter threads then the new one. i was told by someone on this forum that the threads were 12 x 1.25 but i guess they were wrong. does someone know the actual thread size so i can tell him before he sends out the rest!!

I was under the impression that your year ('06) onwards all had the 12 x 1.25 thread pitch?. What logo did you order and what did you get?. Any pics of the top would be appreciated.

I have three of these on order for '06 cars and was told by R&D that they would send out extra inserts incase the thread pitch was different so it should be an easy fix.

Can someone just measure it with a vernier caliper?

I'd hate for the shift knobs to have a wrong thread spec, then require a band-aid solution to fix it.

i have no idea what the current size thread is, but the original knob used on the early '05s (with the recalled hexagonal shifter shaft) had smaller diameter threads than the later cars (and replaced hex shaft cars). Maybe they made the knob with the thread size of the old ones...

10mm 1.5 pitch for round shaft Elise and the majority of Exige.

12mm 1.25 pitch for 240S and newer cars.
