Vision Function Supercharger Kit's Available!!!

It is official like a referee with a whistle!

Vision Function would like to Introduce our Elise/Exige Intercooled Supercharger Kit. After two years we are ready and finally shipping complete kits. The combination of hard work between CharlieX and our workshop. We have been able to pull together a supercharger kit upgrade that is envious to no one. Featuring a power packed value and unparalleled performance. The VF280 kit is only the starting point, tremendous head room was built into this kit. As you have probably seen, testing for the Stage 2 or VF300 kits are already underway and will be available for future upgrades. There is no kit available that offers the out of the box performance we have and upgrade potential. As our base kit stands we can easily make 100+ whp over a stock Elise with our 7.5 psi kit without being tuned on the ragged edge.

The kit includes:
• MP62 Supercharger
• Bar and Plate Air-to-Air Intercooler
• Custom designed Intake Manifold
• CharlieX Reflashed ECU

MP62

We use the venerable MP62 supercharger. Same unit as GM uses for it's factory Forced Induction Ecotec engines. This model supercharger provides us with exceptional performance in reasonable packaging. Our base kits is uses a 3.2 inch pulley that allows us to make 7 psi in the intake manifold. This is more than enough boost pressure to give you an additional 100 horsepower on tap. In order to make the supercharger as efficient as possible we designed a cast supercharger inlet and outlet with SolidWorks and a fluid flow simulation program called CosmosFlowWorks. The outcome was staggering numbers which really show up on the dyno numbers and the road performance of the Supercharger kit.

Dyno Stock vs. Intercooled Elise SC Kit Dpack

Dynojet Comparison

Intercooler

The dyno plot tells you all you need to know about performance:
What it doesn‘t tell you is how we do it and how we make this power while maintaining reliability. The secret: Cooler intake temperatures. Cooler intake temperatures mean a denser intake charge and a denser intake charge means a larger mass of air in the combustion chamber at any given boost level. More air means more horsepower (with the proper control of fuel and ignition timing, of course). Cooler intake temps have the added benefit of reducing the risk of engine damaging detonation.

Injectors

The injectors of choice are RC Engineering 440cc Injectors. At our 7 psi we are have complete control of AFR all the way up until our 8500 rpm rev limit. These injectors work well with our kit allowing you to have a very smooth idle quality and superb fuel control throughout the power band.

Charlie X Custom ECU Reflash

Upon conception of our Supercharger Kit, we sought the best Engine Management Solution and now we have a great working relationship with CharlieX. Together we have spent countless hours of dialing in the Fuel Map, Ignition Map, Variable Cam Timing Map, etc. After long days and some nights of tuning the car really seemed happiest at about 13.0 afr on the small cam, then at peak torque on the large cam 12.5 afr at peak torque and 11.9 afr at Peak Power. While running it slightly richer than usual we did lose some horsepower but what we gained was reliable as a richer AFR gives you better in cylinder cooling. Simply said less heat less stress! We use our in house Dynapack Dynometer, in the load based tuning mode. This is great R&D tool to dial the car in properly with its steady state rpm tuning and load ability. Some of the great names in the automotive industry use this dyno like Nascar, TRD, MINE'S those are just a few to start.

TVS is nice... not officially blown away yet though. Maybe we will have something for you in the future.

Honestly if I were looking for a supercharger hit (I already have one) this would be the one to get. Looks like they have put in the most amount of time into creating a kit, they put out the most horsepower, it has a charlie tune, I actually believe they will come out with a stage II kit, and Jermaine is a great guy who really knows his stuff.

I have no affiliation with VF, but I met Jermaine when he was in Houston. I have also had a ride in a VF car and I will say it will walk all over my Gotham Exige S.

Great news that it's finally out...but I think the big question we all have is: When is the upgrade kit coming out for Katana/BWR cars?

Charliex's tuning can't be beat in the Lotus market..

It's nice to have options. I'm not in the market at this time, but I will be in the near future.

Looking good!

Regarding the BWR kit, (different alternator location) mine includes everything in your new kit except the Intercooler, the Custom intake manifold, and Charlie upgrading his ECU flash.

Do you plan on releasing a kit for this setup and if so, what would be the cost?

I have the VF kit on my car and I love it. I had a Katana before this and there is no comparison. Its nice to have an intercooler and the extra margin of safety it provides regardless of the type of SC installed.

To top it off, Jermaine and Vision Function have been great with support. They even flew him down to Houston to over see dyno tuning of the Stage II on our cars by Charlie. It's true they have put a lot of hard work into this kit and so far it has been excellent.

Highly recommended...

Are the blower outlet pieces the same as the stock S parts? your elbow on the exit looks like it flows better than the stock piece, if so does it bolt up to an S?

I want this kit, but I need CARB approval as I don't want to pull it off then reinstall it every two years. Any idea how much it would cost to get the CARB approval done? What if California buyers payed a bit extra for the CARB stickers to defray the CARB approval cost?

That's really unlikely unfortunately

Why would you have a problem inspecting it? Do they check for that stuff? NY has the same standards and nobody I know has any problems as a result of that...

Yes, they do check for it in California. Of course, you could get an incompetent technician who misses it, or some people bribe them to overlook it, but I don't want to do that.

Maybe there is a way to mask it just for the inspection? Shouldn't be too hard...

Mask that you have a supercharged car? Not likely. Unfortunately I've had bad experiences with California smog regs. Even my aftermarket headers (on a different car) made me fail at one point.

So what do you guys in Cali do since there is no CARB legal kit?

Sorry for going off topic...
