Exclamation Tesla body design superior to our beloved Buzzbomb?

What say ye Scurvy Crew?

I actually prefer it. Cleaner lines and reminds me of the Opel Speedster I rented in Krautland so many moons ago.

"Oh, hell no!" says this totally unbiased Elise owner
I think the extended section between the door and rear wheel arch of the Tesla actually is a tad awkward. IMHO, of course...

Nice slur ! I am sure that won't offend any German forum members , thank god you did not go to Japan or Africa....

The Tesla looks no where near as interesting as the Elise, I have seen the Red proto model driving around here in Santa Monica several times and sat in it at the Beverly Hills Concourse car show last year, and my first thought was I was looking at an MR2.

Overall, no. looks a bit too homogenized.

But there's a few styling cues that I don't mind.
-the rear lights look a bit more modern. (Elise rear end looks a bit retro compared to its' front end).
-and it does look like the rear of the Tesla has a bumper, and wouldn't require a whole new rear clam!

That's just you though.

Never dug the Buzzer's Boy Racer looks. The thing I do like about the Tesla is how the body design flows together much better.

I somewhat disagree, the smaller panels of the Tesla create more seams that visually break up the lines, sort of a jigsaw puzzle

Like the looks of it, but the Elise is better

I do like the headlamps but that's where it ends. The Tesla is FUGLY all day long from every angle. The rear end looks like a Mitsubishi Spyder(Mitsu actually looks better) Those hideous tailights look like something directly out of a ricer magazine ad(the ones that show about 25 different front bumpers for a Honda Civic). The doors are probably the worst part of the whole package with the upswept end (barf)..
Everyone knows that a hybrid or electric car will not be a sucess unless it looks a bit weird going in, Toyota has already proven that. The other problem is that the car ended up being quite a bit slower than advertised. The old "come and get it and we will change the tranny later for you at no extra charge" routine(I can't imagine selling cars that need to have the transmissions changed out later). The battery pack came in quite a bit heavier than expected as well.
I would love buy a family sedan based on their theory someday though so I hope they do make a go of it.
Good luck to the "Google Billionaire Boys Club"...

I also like the Tesla's looks but much prefer the Elise. The Tesla is understated more than I would prefer on a sports car. The Elise is just aggressive enough for me without going overboard.

I never saw a good picture of the sides of the Tesla before... not sure I'm digging it.

When we tested it, it did 0-60 in 4.4 seconds in the wet

How is that any different than other car companies having major recalls on their cars?

+1

Those panel seams just don't work for me. Otherwise the shape isn't bad. I still prefer the Elise (but really favor the Exige )

I agree. The silver car(worst color on the Tesla) in the pictures just looks dated and dumpy, and the "twist" wheels look like something off of an 85 Trans Am. OMFG!
I do like the 5 lug config though(small concession)

If you were on TeslaTalk, you would be dissing the Tesla! Some things never change.
