Hmmm...how long would it take for guys to hack that and make their Prius sound like a v12 ferrari, v8 pickup or a something else odd.

from what I read it sounded like both the tesla and the merc were stopped and the camry came along and slammed the tesla into the merc... which would have nothing to do with how much noise any car was making

As a car owner it's spooky having a cyclist cross in front of you. They should have a baseball card flapping in their spokes.

I hate to be a tool but I hate cyclists. Worst thing in the world is going out in the middle of no where to hit some twisties and after apexing out of a corner, BAM! In the center of your lane is a cyclist wearing speedos with their arse up in the air.
Then there is the flocks that congest the road every summer in the good spots where I ether take a car or a motorcycle out to enjoy the road. Now if they put a bike lane on these roads I wouldn't care as long as they stayed out of the way of vehicles that are going at least the speed limit.
I make it a point when passing cyclists on my motorcycle, to drop my legs from the pegs and pretend to pedal faster then them as I pass. I been flipped off a few times but I find it fairly humorous.

I think i read about this technology like 3 years ago, and you can pick whatever exhaust note you want.

In fact, I know they used this on Pimp My Ride, but i can't find any actual videos, except for this one, which isn't from pimp my ride.

Lotus had developed a system for electric cars to aid in deaf people not getting killed by them.

The recently press released tarted up by Brabus Telsa (the one with the neon lights) had a vroom vroom sound generator in it as well. I still agree with another comment I saw that they need to add a pew pew pew horn to it. lol.

Brabus tunes the Tesla Roadster - yes, you can get neon with that - AutoblogGreen

"Those who get bored with the near silent hum of the electric motor will now be able to get a new "Space Sound Generator" that provides simulated audio tracks including a V8 engine, a race engine or various synthetic futuristic sounds like "Beam" and "Warp." "
