on the roadster, the batteries + electronics (I think) are liquid cooled.

Still... could it really need that much frontal area to cool off the hardware? That's an awful lot of aero drag...

++

...this is why the dodge EV europa-sticker-job looks so utterly absurd - okay, air conditioner, motor cooling system, yes, i'll accept, but it's not like actual internal combustion is taking place with disproportionate waste heat and air intake requirements...

...this is more along the lines of my air intake expectations for a real-world platform designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, and it had a perfectly functional air conditioning system...

...the truth, i suspect, is that anachronistic stylists can't let go of big fake air intakes to make their cars feel exciting, not unlike the iconic mustang side "scoops"...

Could be just for appearances.

If the S did end up looking like that, I want one.

Because it's a pchop. That looks like a Nissan with 2 more doors.

The carbon fiber diffuser looks sweet in the first post with the designer's head in it.

because Larsen sux at renderings for future products? seriously though... that "larsen's" renderings are never very accurate, (and horrible IMO) however the tesla battery pack (liquid cooled) and electronics pack (air cooled) - i belive i got that right? does require cooling.

but year your right - huge grill probly note - but some grill yes.
