Looks to me like the Tesla was the innocent vehicle in all that. It also looks like the cockpit is fairly intact, so hopefully everyone escaped unscathed.

Yup, looks like the Tesla was rearended by the Prius looking thing behind it. Not sure how to explain the SUV on the roof though...
Anyone notice the familiar can of fix-a-flat???

I'd guess the Tesla was in the middle, since its front end and rear end were damaged. But, just like our cars, the cockpit looks remarkably intact. I can imagine the Tesla wedging under the VW and popping it up. If that's the case, that Prius had to be flying.

What are the odds of a hybrid hitting a full electric into a combustion vehicle? They're just missing a coal train and the Hindenburg.

The Tesla was the innocent party in a 3 car pile-up at some roadworks near our vacation home in Denmark The car that initiated the collision (not shown in this shot) was a, very much shortened, Toyota Avensis. Nobody was seriously hurt, as far as I could tell.

The Prius looks like it hit the Telsa and then the Telsa rear ended the Toureg towards the driver's rear causing the SUV to be pivoted like it is in the pic. Notice the piece of the Tesla between the rear bumper skin and the muffler of the SUV.

Is that the standard Lotus can of fix-a-flat on the ground behind the LR wheel of the Tesla?

And of course, I hope all involved are OK...

THAT is why a dedicated full width roll structure is important. However rare. If it weren't a targa, things could have been MUCH worse for the tesla if there were passengers.

Don't forget a Honda FCX in there too. Assuming it all hapened on the grounds at 3 Mile Island, that'd be something indeed.

A micrcoburst storm caused a large tree branch to fall in Boulder this past summer. The branch hit two cars. They were both Pry-us-es (Top Gear pronunciation). They were both the same color... which was green. Welcome to Boulder.

Hope everone is ok in the accident. It doesn't look pleasant.

It's amazing how well the driver's cell holds up in these things while the remainder of the car just falls apart. All that smashed carbon fiber!

Yikes!! Glad to hear the driver walked away with minor injuries. Not much any driver could do to avoid that one..

Well it definitely could have been a lot worse. At least the driver is still alive.

It's not real nice to laugh at someone else's misfortune, but I think in this case the misfortune belongs to the squirrel. Thought this was a tad amusing:

As someone on another forum wondered: if the Touareg was a TDI running on biodiesel, it was surely the most environmentally friendly collision ever.

Copenhagen's ThinkPad users looted the scene before the cameraman got there
