Tesla vs Tango drag race

Tango 14.480 @ 92.15 mph, Tesla 14.666 @ 101.23 mph. The Tango has a different dial in, which is why it starts before the Tesla.

Does the Tango have no top end to it at all? Lord knows it doesn't look aerodynamic. I clearly do not follow drag racing enough to understand this sort of thing.

Note the Tesla in this video had the interim powertrain, locked in second gear. A recent run with the final single-speed powertrain resulted in a time of 12.7 @ 104.74.

What is going on with the new transmission? Is it being installed in the current production Teslas?

Yup, as of about 60 cars ago. The first 40 with the original transmission are being replaced at no cost.
