Unequal A arm independent.

Front is in board independent. This was done by the ex-Lotus Elise engineer.

I've had the chance to ride in Skip Cannon's Caterham which is powered by a turbocharged Miata engine and puts out just over 300 HP at the wheels. That thing is without question the fastest accelerating car I have ever ridden in. Absolute nuts I tell you. 400 should be down right ludicrous.

Will you be using a similar drivetrain?

For my car, we are still debating/investigating. The main two options for engine are a 2.3l Duratec with turbos. Or a 2 rotor turbo car. Part of the decision involves the size of the engines and available gearboxes for each.

Is that Solidworks? The thought of a car being designing in Solidworks is enough to scare the crap out of me.

No, it is not. Wish it was. I use Solidworks and the files were not compatible.

The power levels you are trying to achieve seem overkill to me

We have a target to hit for competition. Our weight for competing will be set at (I think) 1750 pounds so we will ballast up for that. And we will be running huge Hoosier slicks.

The competition is a two rotor turbo powered Sprite running min weight with huge tires and also near 400hp.

I want the cars to be near to each other in power and weight and then we can compete based on set up and driver skill.

And yes, the other driver told me he can never really floor the car either.

Huh? That's gotta be SolidWorks, version 2008 or 2009, the toolbars at the top and right are a dead giveaway.

Could be. Shrug. Did not look that closely. I needed some details sent over and those files were not Solidworks. I think they were Pro-E.

Hmmm, that photo is not of Pro-E, thats for sure. Awesome showing the cad model either way. Its not something the general public usually gets to see.

Update. We are going to put three cars in work. One is mine, and two more will be for whomever wants to place an order. Work should start on March 1st. Estimate 4 weeks for build. 4 weeks to ship to port in Long Beach.

Rollers without drivetrain will be $28,000 plus $2,000 for import duties and freight to SoCal.

The cars can be customized to some extent, but this includes mounting pick up points for a Mazda Duratec engine, or the Mazda Renesis Rotary engine.
