Alfa Romeo 4C
Have you guys seen the new Alfa Romeo 4C concept? I personally believe that this is much closer in concept to the current Elise/Exige than the replacement 2015 Elise.
There are elements of Elise/Exige and Evora in the car (As well as Nissan GTR to my eye). The specs read well. 1874lbs with around 260bhp and 250 torques. The price may be a bit rich, but with the Elise also moving up a level in weight, power and price there is a slot for this car I believe. I personally cannot wait to test one. It is also set for production next year, so not just another pretty concept. ![]() ![]()

I see a bit of GT-R in the rear with the large circular tails. This thing is pretty cool, the choice of wheels for the concept car is hideous though. If the end product is as good as it sounds, I would consider one.

Hi Guys, From years following-driving AR, this 4C is a let down ! Why ? * It lacks originality , the side view screaming LOTUS * Mid engined cars are problematic, especially the hot air ventilation. * Dead wrong design & decision to pick this one. Walther de Silva & Sbarro may have the louder laugh... DIVA is much more exciting... original... mid-engined Oh well ! ..BTW.. Lotus is better looking... ... and Lotus needs not fear of loosing fans... to this 4C. . |

![]() this isn't the 60s anymore. almost every single serious sports car today is mid-engined.

lol - yea, those porsche caymans are all over on the side of the road overheated ...
![]() 4c is VERY in keeping with Alfa's current design themes. i am ~90% in love with the 4c styling, and 100% with the specs - considering its nothing more than a concept car... - i think the paint is hurting the styling more than anything. fiat needs to get bold with Alfa like this - so little at risk there, and lots of potential upside. mito - nice! (now what to do with Lancia...) fiat is getting its act together rather quickly it would appear.

Any word if this is coming to America when Alfa makes its return sometime in the next few years? (I think they are saying 2013 now?).
Right now, it looks like Saab wont be around in 3 years when my Elise is paid off (unfortunately), so my next car daily driver will probably be a 159 wagon

Random Musings:
- GTR? The only thing similar is that there's an R in 'GTR' and there's an R in 'Romeo' Thats it! - Another thing to note - the car is carbon fibre. Carbon construction in a $60K car? That's really unheard of. - It's very reminiscent of the Elise. If the Elise was still made at the time this hits the streets, it would be THE direct competitor. - Convertible/Targa - needs to have a removable top. ANY fun car I have has to have that. I live in Chicago. When the weather is nice, I want top off fun. - I LOVE the styling. They really did a nice job of making it look like a smallish 8-C. As noted, hate the wheels - although would look good in a better color. Say the car was matte white or yellow and the wheels were carbon grey. - Batman - you saw one?!?! Wow. It much have been a concept at Pebble Beach. On the concept lawn, I was VERY disappointed to not see this car there. They did have Zagato bodied 8C Shooting Brake concept, but would have preferred to see this. - I'd be interested to see the stance. For example, our Elises look a certain way in photos. Then when you see them in real life, you realized how LOW and flat they are. I'd like to see if its the same with this car. - Sales/Service - what's the plan for the US and A? This looks like THE most obvious replacement for Elise owners. Time will tell.

BTW - here's the 8C concept from Pebble Beach. Really looked awesome in person.
Oh and this month's CAR magazine has the 4C as the cover story.

This is likely my next car, if it hits the target specs. Lotus clearly doesn't want my lightweight sports car money any more.
I'm surprised that no one has posted the pics of it in Silver for Frankfurt: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Love the car, but not the wheels.
What is the spec of this car?

yeah it was pebble beach weekend and I was down in Pismo Beach for the weekend with the GF... We were driving back though Hwy 1 on the way home when we passed it. She pointed it out to me and asked me how much that car cost because she thought it looked "super cute".. I was like "holy crap! I have no idea because you can't buy it yet."

I'm more interested in how the car feels (steering feel, brake feel, gear shift, throttle response, etc)
