Dodge EV At The Senate

The Dodge EV (the rebadged yellow Europa S) is on display outside the US Senate office building I work in. The interior has many elements of the California Elise. This is part of the Big Three dog-and-pony show. The work is pretty clean - they have a nice-looking carbon fiber tray covering the electric motor. The exhaust slot is covered with the honeycomb grille stuff that's also on the other intakes.

It got a lot of attention, and (like Tesla, who were here about a year ago), they were dramatically downplaying this being from anybody but their own engineering department. The vehicle ID plate was taped over.

I was not here in 2001. Started here in 2002. Did not experience 9/11, nor anthrax, but went thru ricin. Interesting place to work, but a fair amount of stress, generally.

When there's something car-related, (not often) I try to be sure to go check it out.

They shouldn't have bothered with the tape... apparently they're doing a fairly good job of pulling the wool over the Senate's eyes...

But seriously, putting a one-off electric car on display to impress the congress, that was essentially built by another company in another country, is the kind half-a$$ed stuff the Big 3 have been up to for years...
