Opel Speedster/Vauxhall Whats-its-called

Has anyone driven either of these two cars?

Can you compare how they drive to the Elise (Federal version)? Obviously the engines are one of the biggest differences.

Would you say they are more similar to the Europa than an Elise or Exige?

Is the body fiberglass like an Elise/Exige or some other material?

Thanks...just curious

Hi,
I ride an Opel Speedster 2,2 L atmo.
it's the seem car as an S2 elise with another "dress".
147 Bhp, Opel engine: 2,2l ECO.

One of the biggest differences with an Elise is the front wheels : 175/55/ 17.

Stéf, from Paris.

...the VX 220 uses a slightly longer chassis wheelbase than the elise/exige, same as the europa, and shares its turbo Z20LET ecotec powerplant with the europa as well...i suspect they handle very similarly...

...i've yet to read of any europa/speedster/VX220s being imported and federalised, and now that GM's kappa platform is widely available, there's little incentive to bother with the effort...in fact, i'd wager that the europa will be made redundant shortly after the evora ships, unless it switches over to dodge's forthcoming electric powerplant...

...incidentally, i had an opportunity to clamber about a solstice GXP at this weekend's san antonio auto show, and was very impressed...the targa coupé due out next year looks to be really nice - it might be the best new sportscar deal in the american market...

Opel or Vauxhall Speedster is one car

Vauxhall is the brand at GB and Opel to the rest of Europe .

Vauxhall or Opel made 2 models
Opel speedster 2.2 or VX220
and
Opel speedster 2.0 turbo or VXturbo 2.0

The body is exactly the same like an Elise/Exige but much heavier ...
They are not similar to Europa at all except the engine at newest Vauxhalls/Opels that sharing the same engine .

Obviously opel speedster turbo is much faster than opel speedster 2.2 NA

Opel speedster`s rear suspension system is exactly similar as Lotus Elise 111R/Federal Elise or Exige

Opel speedster`s front suspension system is common with all S2 elises/exiges
