SEVENs Anonymous
"SEVENs Anonymous" ... a YouTube Channel made For and By you! You're an "Enthusiast" and you're "Passionate" about SEVENS, right? Well, who wouldn't be? ... Just consider the history. Wikipedia says: "The Lotus Seven was a small, simple, lightweight two-seater open-top sports car produced by Lotus Cars (initially called Lotus Engineering) between 1957 and 1972. It was designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman and has been considered the embodiment of the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The original model was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars sold, due to its attraction as a road legal car that could be used for clubman racing. After Lotus ended production of the Seven, Caterham bought the rights to it, and today make both kits and fully assembled cars." "Since the design of the Lotus Seven is so simple, over 160 companies have offered replicas or Seven-type cars over the years. Such cars are often referred to as being "sevenesque" or a "se7en". Sometimes they are also called clubmans." You can even build your own se7en (Locost) using Ron Champion's Book "Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as £250 and Race It!" When it comes to SEVENs, it really doesn't matter whether you own a Lotus 7, a Caterham, Westfield, any other se7en or a (build your own) Locost, does it? That's because these little cars are not only someone's engineering rights. (ie "Seven", "7", and the "Super 7" logo device are registered trademarks of Caterham Cars Limited.) They are clearly much more than that! SEVENs are really a worldwide phenomenon (a movement if you will) created by and for enthusiasts who drive their automotive dreams true to what Colin Chapman said ... "Add Lightness". With so many "Enthusiasts" building, driving and racing SEVENs virtually everywhere, one has to ask ... is this worldwide "Interest" in "SEVENs" just a "Passion"... or ... is it really an "Obsession"? I know what your thinking. ... "An Obsession? ... I'm not Obsessed!" Hell! ... I used to think the same way myself. ... You know what I'm talking about, ... all that stuff like: * I'll just do a few more "lines" on Lotus Talk. ... It's OK! ... I can stop whenever I want. * I'll just "shoot" a few more SEVENs Vids, then I'll stop. ... I know when to quit! * I'll just "pop" a few Pics of my Fabulous SEVEN to share with some friends on-line! ... I'll be fine! But it's no good! ... It's NEVER enough, is it? You know, ... that's how it is for people like us. We think that we are "Enthusiastic" and "Passionate", yet everyone tells us that we are really just "Crazed" and "Obsessed"! Let's face it. ... We're all Addicted ... to SEVENS! Now repeat after me: "Hello ... My name is John and I'm Addicted to SEVENs". More SEVEN and SE7EN vids at SEVENs Anonymous.: Last edited by BusaLoco : 09-11-2008 at 12:49 PM. Reason: can't spell, can't type either! |
