Anyone interested in a Lotus Talk get together at LOG 28?

I am looking forward to LOG 28 and would like to see it there is any interest in an informal get together of Lotus Talk people at the event. I think it would be fun to put names and faces together with the screen names from this forum--others may not think this is a good idea I know time is tight at the event, but I think we could could probably fit in an hour somewhere or possibly even try to meet during the welcome reception. If anyone has an interest, post your ideas and lets see what we can do.

Uh... isn't that what LOG is anyway? A giant informal get together of a bunch of us? Oh, and I suppose there will be a small handful of people who aren't forum members as well.

Haha--you may be right! All the LOG events I have attended were before this forum existed (Elise or Lotus Talk), so everyone was from Lotus Ltd. If the guys from this forum have over run the event, there wouldn't be much of a point to my idea. Is this the case these days?

I wouldnt' say it's overrun, but there certainly are plenty of us. If you're there for the whole thing there will be ample opportunities to meet and hang out with other forum members.

I think it is getting close to being overrun or infested.

LOG 27 was my first and I got wind of it via Elise Talk / Lotus Talk. I had the Elise for LOG 26 but had no knowledge of the event, DFW would have been much closer for me!

Yes, the LOG event is hosted by a different chapter of Lotus Ltd. each year so if you were not in the club you would never have known about it. The internet these days has changed all that.

Where is the LOG next year?
I was thinking of going this year, but things didn't work out.

As of today, we are now at 579 room nights... At this point, I feel pretty comfortable saying that this event is going to be a sell out! If you have not done so already, please book your room nights as soon as possible.

As of last week, the total room count for LOG 28 was at 776 and the Track Day event was just about full. If you have not done so already, please book your room and register for Track Day event ASAP...!

on the topic of the Thread...

One thing which has worked in the past is to have someone from this Forum design a 'secret identification button' (the bigger the better!) which would be distributed (or sold?) to any who wish one.

In a similar manner to the "first LOG" nomenclature applied to registration badges, this is an additional 'conversation starter' when moving around the event.

Just a thought...

That's a great idea. Especially easy for Randy.

'Way back when, (when Fred Flintstone was still driving,) we had little mylar stickers with "Lotus-Cars-List" on them to identify those who were not afraid of the future. Why not a LotusTalk ID now?

PS our local club has a "Dress Code" for the Friday reception, I'll be the one in the green L.E.O. shirt.
