No, there will be registration. I don't believe a link is up yet for that.

Randy,

You are correct. The Registeration form will be available in the next issue of ReMarque.

Also, the current room count for LOG 28 is already at 465+ as of January 27, 2008. If you have not done so already, please book your rooms. We only have approximately 800 rooms allotted for the event and at this rate, we will be sold out within the next two months. Although this is the largest commitment we have ever made in the history of LOGs for room guarantee, we are fully anticipating a sellout.

As of today, we are now at 579 room nights... At this point, I feel pretty comfortable saying that this event is going to be a sell out! If you have not done so already, please book your room nights as soon as possible.

Maybe SweetDaddyD can make up some 3x5 stickers with the LotusTalk logo on them so all the LotusTalk people can write their "screen names" on them ...........?? ( maybe with a stiff type of backing / safety pin )

Soon, very soon...

Today I realized that LOG is only a few weeks away. The festivities get rolling Thursday night July 31 and the main events are in full swing on Friday morning August 1st. I need to get busy and get a car finished soon.

Notables (Notorious?) Attendees

It seems like the list of speakers and special attendees for LOG 28 should have made it online by now but I haven’t seen it. This is from the latest issue of Lotus reMarque (the official publication of Lotus Ltd.):

Mike Kimberley - CEO of Group Lotus
Arnie Johnson – Former CEO of LCU
Clive Chapman – Director of Classic Team Lotus (Collin Chapman’s son)
Roger Becker – Lotus chief test & development engineer
David Simkin – Field service engineer, LCU
Bob Dance – Former chief mechanic with Team Lotus
Alastair McQueen – Co-founder Lotus Driver Training Experience and Lotus test driver
Derrick Walker – Team owner of Walker Racing / Team Australia
Donald Davidson – Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum historian

In the same article, Young Kim the chairman of LOG 28, says “Well, I can’t share everything with you at the moment as some of the Honorary Guests have yet to be confirmed”

DeanG, thanks for putting this up. The only addition I have to the list is a very special one. The featured guest at LOG 28 will be Hazel Chapman.

Maybe we can ask her once and for all if she knows the story of the origin of the Lotus name.

I'm hoping for a few other honored guests:
Tesla
Eagle prototype
Lotus 56 Turbine on the track (I would love to see an hear one of the turbine cars at speed)

DeanG, wish I had better news, but here's the low down. I personally tried, several times, to invite Tesla. Never heard boo back. No way we can get the lone Eagle over here in time to make LOG. The London Car show is just a few weeks before. We are working on having a 56 here. Whether the owner will run it is up to him. We are going to have a couple other surprises for your listening and visual enjoyment.

From what I understand, it would not be the best topic. She has said before that it is a family issue and why bother her. It is really not that important. Remember....this Lady is 80 years old. I think we should all just be happy she is there and let her speak about what she wants.

Hey Type 74. You will still need to register for this event. No one will be allowed in without the proper badge. Only way we can assure security in the area. Trust me, you don't want to run a foul of the IMS Yellow Shirts. Any questions PM me.
