Been a while since I've been to Vegas. Meet the LCS folks at Sears Point, great group and fun to watch in action. Looking forward to my first LOG.

What exactly does it mean to have a track day in association with the LCS?

I believe LCS runs at Club Spring Mountain, so this is great news. It will be worth the trip just for the track day...

I go to Vegas at least once a month and have driven Lotus' on the Spring Mountain track. Great venues.......should be a very good time ;-)

Not sure I will drive.......maybe we can get a special price on a transporter if enough of us commit?

I don't know exactly what it means. I suspect a sharing of the expenses and associated track time.

As far as the track day goes, suspect it means the LCS would be using a session to run their normal event. With the rest of the track time as more of a HPDE for the LOG folks.

Pretty sure i'm going. Now to figure out if we drive, trailer the car, ship the car and fly, or just leave the car here. Looks like i'm buying that extra week of vacation time either way.

Correct.

This will be the furthest west LOG has been held. Kudos to our friends in the Vegas club who took on the challenge to host!!

If the wife is coming, it's fly and rental for me. She does not like riding in the Elise and I sort of owe her a trip to the Grand Canyon. We could go there in the rental car and do the LOG, then hit the Grand Canyon for a day or two, and return the car directly to the airport.

Her trip is the Vintage Triumph Register convention in Breckenridge Colorado in August. We will tow uncle jack the Stag.

I started the planning for the drive to Las Vegas and back. The big question is how much vacation we can take. 4 weeks sounds about right. We may be limited to 3 weeks. We live in Hampton Roads Virginia.

Major goals of the trip are:
- Visit my old room mate in Seattle
- Drive down Rt-101 along the Oregon coast
- See the redwoods
- Visit Death Valley again
- Spend at least a full day at the Grand Canyon
- Drive on the salt flats

How can I find out the typical weather conditions for early October in different parts of the country?

weather.com can do that for you. Just type in the city you want, then select "month". Once that screen loads, you can click on the "averages" link at the bottom and it will give you the high/low averages graphed out. Here's an example for Seattle:

Woo-hoo! Now there's an exciting venue to say the least. Looking forward to it. The wife unit has never been to Vegas and I can expect a long list of shows we will be going to.
ride there and back should be a hoot as well.

see ya'll there.
