LOG 27 in Aspen, Colorado - Update!!

Check out www.log27.com for all the latest LOG information.

Emerson Fittipaldi will be the special honored guest during the event.
There will be opportunities for autographs and to meet Emmo. He
plans to attend the track day as well and has been invited to drive
any special cars that may be there (the LOG Committee is working on
getting an especially appropriate car to the event - stay tuned!)

Alain De Cadenet will be the main speaker on Saturday and should have
his usual wit and intelligence on display.

Sunday will feature Peter Darley - former Team Lotus official
photographer during the glory days of Jim Clark. Peter will share his
photos and stories of being part of the winning Team Lotus of the 60's.

Peter Egan - Editor at Large for Road & Track magazine - will be in
attendance during the LOG and will present a special award during the
Saturday banquet. The award will be the Road & Track 'Car I'd Like to
Drive Home" award as selected by Peter Egan himself. Peter is
planning to complete the restoration of his vintage Lotus Elan and if
possible drive it to and from the LOG.

Finally, Clive Chapman - son of Lotus founder Colin Chapman, Classic
Team Lotus Director - will be attending the LOG. Clive is typically
very open to meeting LOG attendees and sharing his personal knowledge
of Lotus.

So add in the Concours in the Colorado Mountains, an autocross, a
special trackday at the private Aspen Motosports Club Woody Creek
Raceway (not normally open to outsiders), spectacular scenic drives,
and the usual great comeraderie of your fellow Lotus enthusiasts and
you have the makings of a truly amazing Lotus weekend!

Better yet, make it a vacation week. There are plenty more great
Lotus roads all over Colorado. The Shelby Museum is in Boulder and
not to be missed for any car buff. Harry Mathews is trying to make
arrangements to open his fantastic car collection for LOG attendees
(more details to come.) Harry has a superb collection that includes a
number of McClaren Can Am and F1 race cars. www.mathewscollection.com

If you haven't made your hotel reservation you should do so soon -
rooms are booking fast. The website also now has photos of the LOG
apparel available when you register for the event.

I will be there with X180Rs #5 and #19 and my M100 Elan. Let's see how many
more of our special cars we can bring out!

See you all in Aspen in August!
